General Discussion / Re: Curzon on Saturday« on: October 09, 2024, 07:11:15 PM »This discussion has again drifted into talking about how the club is run. The original heading is Curzon On Saturday. Could we change the conversation to how the team may perform and the subsidised coach and things to do with Saturday. Please start another thread up if you wish to talk about how good or bad you think the club is run. This has been covered previously. Subject matters evolve, just as verbal conversations do. It's perfectly normal for this to happen. What I would suggest you do is to now make a post on the subject of Curzon on Saturday, that hopefully others will respond to. ![]() 453
General Discussion / Re: Curzon on Saturday« on: October 09, 2024, 01:21:50 PM »I always buy a season ticket it’s a bit cheaper that way,the cost of running a club like ours must be enormous with the likes of Electricity and other odds and sods taken into the equation. The chairman has poured thousands off his own money into running the club .i do appreciate the ticket is but what’s the alternative, Football Chairmen tend to want to lose their own money when they buy Clubs, not take on the debts from the previous one. 454
General Discussion / Re: Lynn win« on: October 09, 2024, 01:20:06 PM »Take out the away fans and it’s a home gate of circa 700 Pink. I thought those days were behind us with crowds to date averaging 4 figures. That’s a huge drop. Hence why I used the word ‘surprise, cos you know what ? It did surprise me 😂 700 is not a lot of good if he needs 1500 to break even, so Joe doesn't have to keep ploughing the money in. 455

And of course the Elephant in the room........what happens when he decides to stop pouring thousands of pounds of his own money into the Club? Who services the debt then? 456
General Discussion / Re: Curzon on Saturday« on: October 07, 2024, 05:36:49 PM »Expensive admission as well. Saturday was myself, son and grandson cost for admission £52. If the 3 of us go to Curzon Saturday the admission will be £33. That’s a staggering 58% more expensive to watch Lynn at home than away. He can't, although I'm sure he would try. Maybe it's down to having an overseas investor. ![]() 457

Where will he/she be based? Singapore? A call centre in New Delhi? SC in his column seemed very happy with the outcome of the out of court settlement that Aldershot are coughing up. Words saying they will think twice before doing that again. Hope it was money well spent for The Shots as they got pasted 5-2 yesterday and sit in a lowly 17th place Shots forum hinting that sum was approaching six figures and being taken out of Tommy's playing budget? No smoke without fire so could explain why supporters call for much needed new signings is not being answered. Trouble at The Walks last Tuesday night during the penalty shoot out. I wonder if that was the reason we had a big security and Police presence for the game yesterday? Another FA hearing and fine heading our way. Sounds as if it was nothing more than handbags, but Lynn needs to be so careful due to previous incidents.
Great news. Let's hope so. It needs to be independent, not have officials appointed by the Club. That way it should provide the opportunity for supporters to be appointed due to their ability and willingness instead of other reasons. We always used to have fantastic supporters Clubs, but that has never been seen since the Club was reformed. ![]() 459

General Discussion / Re: Lakeland Invested in Lynn.« on: October 05, 2024, 02:42:32 PM »I came up against this register or no access to news. I'm not impressed at all. I don't like being bullied into signing up just to have the honour of faster news and an email I don't want and probably won't read. I wouldn't disagree about the loss of a free newspaper, but if it's not profitable then it was only going to go in one direction. As far as the sports reporting in YLP, I don't think many will miss that too much. 461
