I am a bit confused on the matter of signing a player and then sending out on loan ?

It's speculation in the hope that the player will get better and either a) be good enough for us or b) be able to be sold on.

Fleetwood did exactly the same thing with Devonport, signed him from Accrington Stanley (who are they?) then loaning him straight to us https://www.fleetwoodtownfc.com/news/2024/january/devonport-signing-for-development-squad/

With the Academy and the  Under 23's having "a clear pathway to the first team", I must say that it seems a strange one.

Why would we sign a 22 year old player who presumably is not currently good enough for our 1st team, when we must have very similar prospects already coming through the ranks?   :dontknow:

 last time I say who’s on a poor run

Yep, it's all your fault.  :laughcry:

I think they were one down and reduced to 10 men, before going on to win.

Southport's 3-1 home win today pushes us back into the bottom 4 and into the relegation zone.

Would imagine Chorley will feature quite quickly now they have new owners.

Boyzone doing several comeback concerts will help fund the Club I’m sure.   Love me for a season ?  :thanks:

Chorley subject of a winding up order this week. Wonder if Boyzone were aware before all the publicity?

 :laughcry:

On Breakfast time this morning.

I thought all the reasons for getting involved sounded a bit familiar. I think all these Clubs must use the same script writers.

didn't know about the winding up order, so the bits of the puzzle now start to fit.

Thx for that info.

A young Lad from Lynn, that was prepared to play for his home team for no wages for a month. Apparently, partly in order to get some game time but also because he was fully aware what the financial picture was at Lynn.

If he wasn't going to get game time they should never have agreed to take him. It has cost him his own personal money to be with Lynn for the  time he was here.

He must be feeling so disillusioned with the whole episode.

News of former Linnets / Toby Hilliard
« on: January 14, 2024, 07:58:01 PM »
Listening to Setch's post match interview from yesterday, he mentioned that Toby Hilliard has received a FA 4 game suspension for betting offences.

Goes back a while, as it was when he was 17/18, which I think would make him a Lynn player at the time.

Apparently FA are cracking down on betting. If they are going this far back and are prepared to hand out suspensions for a "minimal" bet such as this, I would guess there could be quite a few players now looking over their shoulders.   :dontknow:

“Hi I’m Danny and I’m doing a sky dive for mental health awareness charity

I have suffered with mental health issues for several years now, unfortunately 6 months ago, I went into a deep depression resulting in me trying to take my own life. Thankfully my partner saved my life that day. Also a contribution of my relationship with alcohol which spiralled out of control, causing me to drink excessively daily to delay and hide the thoughts, I was feeling at the time. Resulting in this effecting my relationship with loved ones, and my daily battle with everyday tasks i needed to for fill.
I am now currently 5 months sober, regular attending AA meetings, I have rebuilt my life”.

Good luck Danny, and the same to anyone fighting the evils of Alcohol, drugs, gambling etc.
