Why would anyone give MONEY to the sole owner??

Place on Board?? What Board; and with quarterly updates orchestrated by the 'SOLE' owner!

Very interesting take by Councillor Long ( Council Leader). Where had the Queen Mother, and Sir John Barbirolli given outstanding service to the BOROUGH? And latterly ex Mayor Paul Richards! He was councillor, mayor and researched Kings Lynn and Hanseatic history! However, was his great service to the Borough or similar to Mick, self motivated service to the  Borough in an inexplicable football history which served the people of the Borough and was back page of Lynn News twice weekly. I don't think Mr Daubney, Long and Mrs Nockhold really understand what outstanding Service is!! Their behaviour was to treat the mere affrontary of us plebs with distain and disgust!

General Discussion / Re: Minutes Silence For David
« on: November 23, 2016, 04:49:37 PM »
:scarf: Thanks Robbie; what a fantastic person and player, so quiet till he got on the pitch. Mick & He were remarkable and together went past forwards and back non stop all game!! A funny story related to training where Malcolm Lindsay and David always had to be at the front as the players trained around the pitch perimeter! In those days, no player set foot on the pitch other than on game days!! One evening as the squad circuited anticlockwise as normal; David set of at a great pace in the Clockwise direction. Percy Hooper was not impressed and he uttered the words; 'Well; some go in one direction whilst others go in the correct direction'!!! The warm up was led by Lindsay and Brooks and it entailed scaling the stand wall and runs up and down those steps!! Imagine that now!

General Discussion / David Brooks
« on: November 21, 2016, 12:09:28 AM »
Today I have been contacted by John Brooks, late sixties player that his brother David has died.
He played over 500 games in the 60''s as a magnificent midfield dynamo with Mick Wright together a sight to behold.
David emigrated to Australia in early 80''s and had a great career and life.
Latterly he had onset of illness and has died of a stroke!
We would like the recognition of David's life at King's Lynn to be held at a future game!!
Never touched alcohol; healthy food eater and great player and person.

The progress of young players, from 16yrs old,  is about them learning to focus, concentrate, listen, learn from others (coaches & players) and  super talents at 16 are often overtaken by 20 years old  by lesser beings because of those characteristics!
Kings Lynn have abysmal training and coaching facilities; albeit Under 16 & Under 18's now have Community link at Lynnsport!!

For over 50 years I have heard people / 'supporters talking of how KL(T)FC are a big Club and 'SHOULD' be in higher levels; have a named Manager etc, etc!!
Every thing linked to being big Club is the size of the Ground!! We were big in the 50-60's next to Football League because players pay was fixed and often the non league extended careers and part time meant another income boosting the wage!

Since the days of players coming to Lynn to live and play have gone, Kings Lynn FC has been an outpost which means travel and any budget has to be 25% higher than say Kettering or Matlock.
You have a limited Income from Commerce as we are Rural; gates are Fair but not great and to live within its means there has to be a business plan! What are the OFF Field overheads accounted for and then what's left is the Budget for players.
KL(T)FC has gone into BIG debt 7 times in 50 years by trying to be a BIG Club.
The Club is at its Level now; unless a 'Sugar Daddy' comes in; and after a few years he / she gets bored and leaves the Club worse off again!! Rushden for example!!

Well, Mallard; you think anyone would pay for a piece of Paper!  For their is no bricks & mortar; maybe some for 18 years of Lease!
Don't think the present Leaseholder is 'THAT' wealthy!

The Manager says Ryan Fryatt didn't have the best of games!

The boy has an injury and was pushed to play! That Injury needs Rest!!!

Of course when you are young you want to play and then you get harangued for under performing!

General Discussion / Re: Sam gaugs
« on: August 01, 2016, 10:28:46 AM »
I'm not convinced by Sam G. He lacks pace; has poor distribution and throws his arms about when outwitted by an opponent as he tries to pin the blame on others. I think that Quigley and Castellan  or Fryatt and Castallan would make better centre back pairings.
STAN;  From 10 years old at Norwich Sam was noted as 'Wrong' shape; too slow and small!!  Released at 15yrs old; Tommy Taylor took him into 1st Team at 16 yrs. Peterborough (Ferguson) gave him contract and he played 2 1st Team games pre-season(Celtic one)!  Ferguson sacked and Fry told Sam he would get money for him then released him!! Went to Lowestoft with Fleming and in Conference as skipper!
Its always intrigued me that one persons hate is another persons love in football!!
Sam has good pace, is 6 foot, and has the important game understanding and reads the game well! Another local Lad Charlie Defty had that latter technical skill!!

Mallard; you are correct! He was approaching 40 years old when he left for Watton and played til he was 50years old.
Did manage them with Taffy Williams!
We talk about that and Mick does say that it was good as he had had enough of long trips etc.
However, it was brought on by his being named as sub for 1st game of 2nd season in NPL with Bircumshaw & Johnson ahead of him to play Workington!
The Manager made a decision that was not handled brilliantly him and it stunted a great friendship for some time!!

I have researched as have you 'Fenman' and have come up with similar variations!
However, they were not clear with their reasons of not meeting Criteria only that they didn't want to embarrass Mick!! Well that's not a problem to him I have ascertained!#
What hit me in Research was;
The freedom most commonly arising today is that of being made an Honorary Freeman of the Borough, which, under the Honorary Freedom of Boroughs Act, 1885, (now replaced by the Local Government Act of 1972), may be conferred by any borough, even though otherwise it has no freemen.
To be granted the title of Honorary Freeman is a mark of distinction upon the person whom the Council wishes to honour. The Freedom itself carries no privilege and is purely an honour, reflecting the eminence of the person on whom it is conferred or as recognition of significant and valuable services rendered to the borough by that person.

I will request clarification from Mr Long on Monday!! We have started; so will finish!!

Yesterday we met the New Council Leader Brian Long and Elizabeth Nockholds (cabinet member for culture, heritage and health)! Some 10 nominees had been submitted by Rob! After some 6 months we were told that rather than put it to the Council Chamber, ( as is our right) and embarrass Mick, They had held an informal meet (attendee's unknown to us) and made quite an aggressive assertion that he did not meet the CRITERIA!!
We were talked over, when asking what the Criteria was!
We left knowing this was an un- democratic resolution to the Submission.
