General Discussion / Re: Main shirt sponsor
« on: December 13, 2016, 03:41:52 PM »
I was on the Reserves committee until this season and with the Reserves having G&G as our main sponsors for many years this is great news. To have somebody with such a long and active association with the club as main sponsor is a massive step in the right direction for the new owner. There seems to be no time scale but along with the recent signings and improved team performance I feel that we now have a club that all can support.

Point is Stan to be totally fair to Mills look at the players he was working with!! The team of recent times is much different and the new coach was only appointed last week!!

I agree with you both people should remember Ryan has played over 200 games for the club and been captain for a long period last season. With Sam G proving what a great player he is, having a fully fit Matty and Ryan would have made a massive difference to the season. Lets hope both are back sooner than expected.

Dan Emmington was playing level 6 a few weeks ago and while he has proved that he can play at level 3 there is a difference between level 3 and 6 fitness and Setch was trying to give the lad a break and also trying to get Ryan fit at the same time. With Matty Castellan being out for another couple of months getting Ryan fit is a priority, unfortunately his injury is back and we have probably lost him for a while as well.

According to Setch 'it is unlikely we will see Matty on the pitch before Christmas' !!

General Discussion / Re: Setch Reaches 350

Sorry admin should have read your post more carefully. However I think we need to compare his record against those who have been at the club for a few seasons not a few games .
IMO we are at our level for the foreseeable future and promotion to level 2 is not realistic with the current budget. People should remember the budget for our season at level 2 and the previous season.

If Setch has 200+ wins in 350 games your maths are not that good admin!

Could not agree more with Setch, Pedro was a spectator for most of the second half. Magnificent effort by the lads and if that team spirit can be carried forward it bodes well for the rest of the season. Sam and Quigs set a great example to the youngsters.

More worrying than the 400k, which he was going to ask the FA if he could do it, was the knowledge about third parties buying clubs and or players and that he said there is any easy way round those rules. Also that once you had been involved in such dealings there was a further 5 or 10% to be made from future deals etc. When the TELEGRAPH have finished dribbling their information out, over the next week or so, things may be much worse. Not surprised Sam has gone to Spain asap!!!!
I do however have little faith in what the banned/unlicensed agent has to say, I think the paper needs more concrete evidence before they make their case.

The main point for me was Lee Stevenson being unavailable, while I will not criticise Liam F, Stevenson was a key player on Saturday as in most games, and I feel we would have won the game with Lee on the pitch. I am sure with our full squad available Setch could switch the team round a bit and give some players a rest, at the moment it is 'same again boys'. I hope they will have some energy left for Saturday plus Hilliard back.
