General Discussion / Re: Game v Harlow

The ref admitted he did not see the incident but still warned their no9 that it would be a straight red with his next foul, he was pretty useless after that.

Definitely proved the doubters wrong, the team spirit is fantastic and Sam and Quigs are now proving what great players they are. The two new signings and McWilliams, hopefully fit asap, have proved the manager correct in only signing players who make the team better, and all young lads as well. Emmington has been quite astonishing, was playing step 7 last season.

As you are aware Rod we cannot name names here but gbuckers has previous on this forum slagging off the reserves, and particularly Spits who has been our captain since the club reformed, an outstanding performer whenever he pulls on a Lynn shirt. Having been involved with the reserves for 6 seasons I was pretty mad, spoke to a couple of people heavily involved with local junior/college football and was told where this nonsense came from. Hence my comments on this thread. The team put in another massive shift in yesterday and  showed how ridiculous the post was, no further comment required.

Again people are assuming that the reserves are all capable of stepping up, which they are not. We have seen in the last few weeks the reserves on the bench for the first team, all good young lads but not ready for step3, yet.
If like me you knew who the original post was from Rod your observations would be the same as mine.

I have been involved with the reserves since the club was reformed and I know how difficult it is to make the step to level 3. Who are these youngsters that can do that now?
Adam he had the injury at the beginning of the season.

Setch has had no choice, which must be obvious to all,  then it is a pretty pointless post to start criticising him!!!

Has Setch had any other option?

Correct Rod, I was only using it to answer Mallard's post.

We travelled to Long Melford without, Captain James Spittlehouse who's partner had baby Zac James on Friday and Simon Bird who has dislocated his shoulder last weekend and will need a operation in the summer but should be back in a few weeks. Danny Setchell was injured with a terrible tackle playing for the Under 18s which will prob keep him out for a few weeks. Ben Baxter Hunt was unavailable through work and Nathan Howard has unfortunately left the football club due to work commitments. Luke Pearson was with the first team and Under 18s Keeper Charlie Congreave was injured playing on Thursday...... so had the headache of trying to get a keeper late on Friday, managed through one of Anglian Comb contacts to draft in ex Diss and Thetford Keeper Rob Goodwin.
Thought everything was against us Saturday morning when we picked the bus up and it was doubled booked but finally managed to get all the lads there by cars.
Charlie Butt made his second debut for the club, Ryan Fryatt made his comeback from injury and so did Ryan Harnwell.
Zac Fountain scored just before half time with a header from a corner, he and Ryan Fryatt was excellent all afternoon, they didn't lose a header.
Charlie Butt scored a great individual goal on 50 mins and Tom Mcleish wrapped up the game when he  scored from the edge of the box.
Great team performance from the lads and special mention to Charlie Butt, Nathan Daw and Keeper Rob Goodwin who was excellent.
Goodwin, Shipp, Fryatt, Fountain, Ward, Stannard, Daw, Mcleish, Butt, Frohawk, Harnwell
Subs Used J White, Gibson, Palmer.
Not used Curson
Booked Ward.
Away to Sudbury Res next

Quite a few people, including young children, had their photo taken with the cup. It was were it was because of the required security, i have been told people were not allowed to even touch it, not rules laid down by the club but the FA.

I believe  there are a few and although not the real thing are still valuable, the only time THE FA cup is on display is at the final game, the ones seen  on tv are replicas.

The Fa Cup does not tour the grounds at any level, they are all replicas but still worth a lot of money hence security in the stand on Saturday, the cup was in the presidents lounge.

So did I Rod maybe a bit of calculated counting. The lads certainly deserve the support the way they are playing and the spirit in the side is plain to see. COYL
