From the reports I've read Rod, Mick could have beat them on his own. Just hoping Backie9 has his application accepted.

Thanks Backie9. Nothing more than Mick deserves, I hope those on the Council take this on board. Pity some of the so called professional footballers in the higher leagues have not got his commitment and humility.

Duly signed and sent. Have to agree with you Rod, in my opinion the best player to pull on a linnets shirt. Always remember when the linnets came to Taunton (where I have lived since 1972) and unfortunately lost. All the the talk in the clubhouse afterwards was who's the old guy playing for Lynn, the best player on the pitch by a mile. I know he has not been in the best of health of late does anyone have information how he is.

My name is Peter Farmer, if the powers to be change and want us to use our actual names, so be it. I have no problems with that at all.

Just watch the highlights, what a cracking little game. Looks as though there are a few players who, given the right encouragement could progress further.

Thanks for that S2S. Proves I've still got a few faculties left, I was back in Lynn then.

Two players that spring to mind Rod, were Dougie Morris on the wing and Ray Dixon at centre forward. Perhaps I am too long in the tooth. What a fantastic team we had in the late 50s and early sixities. Unfortunately I joined the Army in Jan 1960 so missed the memorable FA Cup game against Everton. I don't know if I was dreaming or not did John Charles play a game at the Walks. Or is the senile 70s really setting in.

I believe we also played the pre Oxford United team, Rod.
