Presumably (having done no research whatsoever) we get one season's grace or its demotion once again?

I think we've missed a PR opportunity by not getting a new manager in for Saturday:

'Heard of the team that has played 3 FA Cup games this season under 4 different managers?'

The kind of story that would guarantee a page on the BBC Sport website as minimum I reckon!

Nice name check for his boss during his first spell at Lynn, Alan Day  :oldman"

Hopefully there will be a massive build up to this one.  Is it the biggest game in the Clubs history since the Oldham FA Cup game ?

Anyone know when the tickets go in sale ?

We've played (and lost) 2 Southern League play off semis since the Oldham game. Let's hope for 3rd time lucky on Wednesday.

General Discussion / Re: Crucial win for the Linnets

Great atmosphere last night, even for the short spell that we were a goal behind, which hasn't always been the case at the Walks.

The evening had a proper 'old school' football feel to me, right down to the winning goal - centre half powering home a header from a corner; great stuff!

My one gripe with the evening is paying full price for an out of date programme. Now I know issuing the original programme for a rearranged game is nothing new and Lynn have done it numerous times duing my years visiting the Walks. I also understand there are various reasons behind not issuing a new one - costs, print deadlines etc. The fact remains however that due to Lynn having played another game since the original postponement, practically the entire content of last night's programme was out of date (there was, admittedly, a printed, 1 sided loose leaf inclusion). It would have been appreciated if the programme could have either been sold at a reduced price to reflect its out of date content or, at the very least, buyers were made aware that the original programme was being sold before purchasing. I gather that the programme is published by FOTL volunteers and my gripe is not with the programme content per say, more with how it was priced / marketed last night. Football programmes are heading the same way as all other printed media, I'm sure, and there can't be many of us left who still buy them but they presumably remain a revenue stream for the club?

For those that didn't purchase the programme and hoping that the pitch gets dug up at the earliest possible opportunity, you may be interetsed to know that in the 'Chairman's Notes', use of the pitch for private / corporate events in May is being advertised.

We need to make sure if it is the play offs for us we get those all important home ties.

Important from a cash point of view but in terms of footballing advantage, I'm not so sure. 3 Southern League play offs at home as KLFC, vs Redditch, Chippenham and Maidenhead = 3 defeats.

Would Wisbech accept promotion this time around? Last time it was offered, when they were in the ECL, they declined.

To be fair to Setch when he finished runners up at Lynn both seasons he had amassed 100+ points. I guess the budget question should be have any of Wisbech rivals got the money available that St Neots and Long Buckby had back then?

Gate was 200+ down on the last home Boxing Day game,2011 v Holbeach. I dont suppose Holbeach brought more with them than St Ives so, in 6 years where have 20% of our fans gone?

Fans favourite Lee Wilson broke his leg in a friendly played between Christmas and New Year v Arnold Town!

Probably a bit much to suggest that it cost us the league, Boston romped home that year  :countingmoney:

If Slough beat Hendon in the Trophy then our game with them on 16th Dec will be off.

Dean Greygoose, good servant in Peter Morris's second spell I think. Unfortunately my abiding memory is of his red card at home to Histon on Boxing Day that preceded us conceding 8 goals.

Hope for progress tomorrow of course however if we lose let's hope Hereford do as well as there's a tasty looking league fixture at the Walks looming on Trophy first round day.

I hope the First Team go to Basingstoke as planned that day and the Res travel to Attleborough

Don't think there's much chance of that Mal. Being exempt as far as we have we'll be entered as KLTFC 'first team' and not able to play any other game that day (Seem to remember buster tried to play a UCL game and send the ressies to Yarmouth in Senior cup on the same night and was foiled).

Most likely will be a midweek game with a number of younger players involved. Strength of the team I suspect  will depend upon  SC's desire to retain the cup? Although if the game is held in the Norwich 'burbs there may be scope to take the Grant Holt roadshow, especially if the gate is split between the clubs!

BTW, Mick Money, a real blast from the past! From memory a decent striker in a poor team?

Similar situation occurred few years ago when we were drawn away to Caister. Game ended up being played midweek under lights at Gorleston.
