General Discussion / Incoming

We have signed a new defender from Chester, more details here https://www.lynnnews.co.uk/sport/linnets-swoop-for-german-giant-9452045/

Seems a very strange signing to me, particularly if money is tight, with Wilson back from suspension and Anderson from Mansfield who looked promising when he came on Saturday, that isn't the priority area of the pitch for me.  We have been short of a holding midfielder all season which has often been why the defence has looked exposed at times and we have very little creativity or attacking options within the squad so surely that is where any money should be going - how many targets has IC said we have missed out on now?

Appreciate the article says Lynn are in talks with potential new targets but since Christmas we have 2 points from 9 at home, all against teams around us, a couple of wins in those games would have made the table look a little less worrying and have brought a bit of confidence back into the group

General Discussion / Macclesfield (H) - take 2
December 09, 2025, 01:43:46 PM
Hopefully the rain stays out to the west and there are no issues with getting the game on tomorrow evening.

Tough one for IC after the 'men against boys' comment in his post match interview at the weekend, very few options for him to shuffle things round and really he was just stating the fact - we do have a lot of inexperienced youngsters, unfortunately the only way for them to learn is by coming up against sides like Chester (and potentially Maccesfield)

I thought the two centre halves were OK at the weekend but we were completely overrun in midfield and offered very little going forward, Crane is a shadow of the player he can be when played out wide so with no Marriott I would move him into the centre.  Fleming hasn't been half the player I hoped when we signed him at the start of the season and has been shown up for pace in a number of games so wondered if IC might move him a bit further forward to play as the holding midfielder and take a bit off Clunan's shoulders.  My team for tomorrow

Jones
Wilson, Wilson, Dickens
Williams, Collins, Fleming, Clunan, Clements
Crane
Sealey

General Discussion / Tuesday night offer
November 24, 2025, 12:12:25 PM
Just seen this posted on X by the club
𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄-𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑: Bring 2 friends for just £5 each!

You can bring one or two of your mates to Tuesday's game for just £10 in total if you're a season ticket holder.

Offer ends on Tuesday 5pm, make sure you are logged in on your ticket account 👇

Great to see the club trying to drum up a few extra supporters for a (potentially) cold Tuesday evening and personally wouldn't mind seeing this rolled out more regularly.

As for the game, I never look forward to Buxton after their dreadful timewasting antics a couple of seasons back  so just hoping for a bit more football than that night.  Assume Clunan's suspension will roll to this fixture so will IC go with the same team as Saturday?

Interesting to see what IC goes with today with the option of the three new young loanees.  Still lots of areas he doesn't have much wriggle room with the injuries although switching to a back 4 could be an option.  I know Dilly doesn't like to discuss formations, preferring the under 7s approach of everyone attack / everyone defend but for those who have watched Rowe, Simpson and IC swap things around (or not as was the case last weekend) formations can make a difference and bring out the best in players or conversely highlight their shortcomings.

I personally don't think Marriott and Gold help each other so that is the big decision for IC now he has the option of Sealey in from Norwich, personally I would like to see him paired with Marriott who has done lots of good work a bit deeper this season but with very little reward because of who he has had around him imo.  My team for today

Chapman (reluctantly)
Wilson, Wilson, Dickens
Fleming, Clunan, Maja, Clements
Crane, Marriott, Collins/Oudnie-Morgan

Some positive news from the club this evening with Joe being appointed Head of Football Operations https://www.kltown.co.uk/2025/11/19/kings-lynn-appoint-joe-simpson-as-head-of-football-operations/

Looks a good fit and having worked with IC previously hopefully he can make a success of the new role, wishing him all the best.

General Discussion / Season Tickets
June 06, 2025, 12:38:43 PM
Season tickets now released with all the details here - https://www.kltown.co.uk/2025/06/06/a-new-era-begins/

Highlights - adult standing £295 or £249 if purchased before 23rd June and still have the premium seating which I know will upset a few.  For those who don't want a season ticket tickets the club are going down the advance purchase discount route so adult, so prices are up by £1 on last year or down £1 if you purchase before the day of the game so expect a lot less queues at the ticket office on matchdays.

General Discussion / Agents Fees
April 14, 2025, 06:46:23 PM
List of Agents Fees published for National League (inc North & South teams) for Feb 24 to Feb 25 which seems a strange time period as it possibly includes a few late season signings for teams trying to avoid the drop or just to give that final push for promotion last season.  Think there are only 8 NLN teams in the list and no surprise to see Scunthorpe well ahead of the rest although South Shields pushing Kidderminster for second and we come in fourth but really in the scheme of things it doesn't amount to much and plenty of teams in and around the NLN playoff picture who don't appear on the list.

News of former Linnets / Alfie Payne
November 27, 2020, 02:12:31 PM
Alfie Payne has moved to Lowestoft during the lockdown https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-alfie-payne-signs-lowestoft-6499858

Never thought we quite got the best out of him, maybe he didn't have the physical stature required to replace Jarvis but certainly had the footballing nous to fill that role (outstanding in the York home game when he came off the bench and just made us tick all day).  Wish him all the best and think if they play him deeper than we did can see him opening up defences for Hawkins and others to get a hatfull.
