General Discussion / Admission Prices
« on: July 27, 2017, 08:18:06 AM »
I have been looking at the admission prices for several national conference clubs. (2 Divisions above us !) . A lot of them are charging the same as us ! . We are clearly charging far more than clubs in our league ! It will be interesting to see what our attendances will be, especially if we start badly ! . We would need to be near the top to encourage good crowds. We have to bear in mind that only one club goes up automatically (maybe Hereford !).

When will find out if The Linnets are still in the Southern League ?? Is there a chance we could be moved to the Northern ? - I hope not !

The culverhouse kids did okay today. Lots of energy, but a lack of ball control at key moments in front of goal.
We should have won by 3 or 4 goals, but did not convert several one on ones with the Frome goalie., However it was a lot better than some games this season, because we actually passed the ball instead of route one hoof ball ! Lots of hope for next year.

When I first read the intended price increases, I thought it was an April 1st joke ! These new admission prices are very close to some EFL league 2 prices ! . I think a small increase would have been acceptable, but not the prices suggested ! I cannot see it working ! Especially with the poor hoof football we have been watching !

General Discussion / Re: Current season

Clearly IC is going through the end of season motions, because we have so many key players injured. Plus of course the lack of a decent striker for 3 years !! Be patient. IC will need to get some experienced quality players in during the summer, plus some of the present squad. Hopefully IC (with his contacts) will do the business. Let's wait and see !

The present squad is still much the same as in Setch,s time. Clearly we are not going to get promotion with this lot. Just not good enough. Despite some encouraging deplays  (Mcquaid for example), we will need 4 or 5 class additions (especially up front). Hilliard as been a big disappointment. Last night was another case of just hoofing the ball up in the air. We need to improve our first touch and play on the floor.

St Neots were lucky to score 2 goals, resulting from bad defensive errors on our part. St Neots once they scored, tried to waste time at every opportunity.  They foul on Ryan was terrible - blood everywhere ! We also lost Tom Ward and Sam to injuries, which left us with a depleted defence. We had very little up front - passes and shots were going astray, ball control on a bumpy pitch was also poor. We can only get better !
I hope the injured players make a quick recovery.

I think Ryan Fryatt deserves a contract. He was outstanding last season, plus he will get goals from set pieces. Now that he is back fully fit, he will be a certainty in our our defence.

Sounds like Ryan Fryatt is back to kind of goal scoring form of last season ! Perhaps another one for a contract ?? How did Congreve perform in goal ? That's the first time we have had a goalie sent of for some time. I believe that Quigley had to go in goal on the last occasion ?

General Discussion / Re: New Contract Announcment for Lynn Player
« on: March 07, 2017, 07:00:59 AM »
Delighted that Pedro has signed a contract ! As the chairman says, Alex is one of the best keepers in our league. I am sure that he will go on to beat the appearance record for a Lynn goalie ! Under IC the future looks rosie for Lynn. I was impressed with his attitude on Saturday, with hopefully more good news with key players putting pen to paper, ready for next season !

General Discussion / Stratford today
« on: March 04, 2017, 05:21:08 PM »
A comfortable 3 points for Lynn today. Stratford hardly had a shot on goal. Several outstanding performances  and a nice easy game for IC in his first home game in charge.  Clearly it's early days for IC, but the team wanted to play for him today. Onward and upward. Let's try and get as high up as possible.  The king is dead - long live the king !

General Discussion / Pitch for Saturday.
« on: March 02, 2017, 08:49:55 PM »
What is the possible state of the pitch for Saturday ? We have not had a home game for a few weeks, so some of us are having withdrawal symptoms?  Also a chance to see how Ian Culverhouse is shaping.
Heavy rain forecast tonight/tomorrow. Hope we get a game.

General Discussion / Re: Mettam

I am sure all fans will not care who scores the goals. I still have my doubts about Mettam at our level. However let's see who we get to start next season ! Mr Culverhouse will I am sure be positive in his recruitment. Clearly some of present squad will still be around. So its a case of shape up or ship out. We want tigers who are are going to battle in every game.
