General Discussion / Dunstable Town v King's Lynn Town preview
« on: October 16, 2017, 11:55:29 PM »
Lynn visit Creasey Park, Dunstable on Tuesday looking for a victory having failed to win on the road since the end of August. Hopes of an improvement in their goal difference may also be high as Dunstable Town have the dubious record of the weakest defence in the division.
A home victory over Farnborough followed by an away point at St Neots gave them a four point advantage over fellow strugglers Gosport Borough but the Blues went down 5-1 at Stratford on Saturday, the sixth time they had conceding five or more goals this season.

Last season Dunstable finished their league programme in 16th place taking four points from Lynn, winning at The Walks and sharing the points at home, Lynn failing to register a goal.
May 2017 saw the departure of Chairman John McLoughlin stating that he could "no longer give the club the time and finances required at this level of football."
A consortium of local businessmen offered to invest in the club but this was overwhelmingly rejected at the Annual General Meeting at the end of May by the committee members and supporters of the club as one of the conditions was that the club applied for relegation from the Southern Premier League to the Spartan South Midlands League.
Manager Anthony Fontenelle stepped down doubting that the club would have a competitive players' budget and he was replaced the following month by Tony McCool as the Blues try to maintain the Southern League Premier Division membership and with just one club to be relegated this season they might just achieve that.

General Discussion / Away travel: Dunstable & Gosport
« on: October 04, 2017, 03:28:28 PM »
From FoTL Facebook page:

Minibus available for the Dunstable away game on 17th October. Cost is 15. To book speak to Sally or Mark in cafe/club shop (5 non-refundable deposit needed).

Also, looking for names who would be interested in Gosport away game on 21st. This will be a minibus again as a coach would cost too much.

Bookings will be on a first come first served basis.

Please note, no alcohol will be allowed.
