It will be interesting to see where the £400k+ for a 4G pitch will come from.

And given that the council has just decided Lynnsport doesnít need anymore artificial pitches, canít see then letting the Walks convert away their grass.

In regard to all the rhetoric regarding our present Chairman, can anybody say who would have done a better job for the club say over the last 30 years.

For all his faults, Buster did more to help the town have a stable club, that had a future and lived within its means.

Cleeve has won some glory by taking the club to a casino.

General Discussion / Re: Ticket prices announced.

Quite a short post, and havenít posted in a while.

I was priced out of getting a season ticket last year, but planned to still go to about 80% of games. I went to 2.

With a pay freeze and rising costs, I couldnít justify spending that much on leisure time with three kids. Not that I couldnít afford it, but it simply wasnít value for money for a day out. So I stopped going.

When this years prices came out, I came to the realisation that Lynn just arenít my team anymore. Kind of gone off football in general. Itís a shame, but how it is.

General Discussion / Re: The relegation Battle

Our Chairman took a massive gamble and failed.  Not only failed but saddled the Club with another £500k of debt.

What a legacy.

Doverís chairman decided that the longterm future of their club was more important than trying to limp on in a relegation less season. Then decided not to over invest in this years team who seemed guaranteed to be relegated, in order to prepare for the 22/23 season in the NLS.

Ours took on a 500k loan, that the club canít afford.

A player we can afford? :dontknow:

Bambi was always good for 20 minutes of charging at tired likes.

Have to agree with Alan Sugar and Simon Jordan no place for fans on the board are these fans who join owners on boards going to contribute to transfers or financing club when itís required

The German 50%+1 model has worked pretty well over there.

:farmer: :oldman" I personally feel we need a manager with experience in the National league, who has a note book full of contacts at National league level and above, not below, we could possibly survive with a few players from lower levels, but we as a club seem to be recruiting all from lower leagues or injury prone players from our level or slightly higher. The problem as I see it is, no money, no players really up to the level, no money coming in through the turnstiles to fund better players, no real income from advertising, so realistically what experienced manager would really want too take that on . Only time will tell. :oldman" :farmer:

I think youíve explained quite eloquently why we are unlikely to get a manger experienced at this level, and will end up taking a punt on an inexperienced up and coming manager, because they are the only ones likely to be affordable and willing to take the punt and what might be seen as poisoned chalice.

Didn't they win their first game today!? How does that work then!?  :laughcry: :laughcry:

Maybe he complained about the quality of the catering.

Was probably pre-planned to give the new manager time to bed in during the international break.

Was always an entertaining day when Eze was playing; not always in a good way though.

General Discussion / Re: Southend (21st August)
« on: August 21, 2021, 09:14:55 PM »
So the simple question is ...Why are we the most expensive and what is the justifying logic.......

I think itís because it was decided we needed a bigger budget to compete in this league, and so prices went up to increase the budget. Basing decisions on what SC wants the club to be,  rather than what it can afford.

It is worth remembering the pricing structure last year was never really put to the test.

Currently 3 of Saturday's fixtures off with Bromley v Grimsby the latest due to Covid in the Grimsby camp.

Maybe someone can help me here;

If you have been double jabbed you don't need to self isolate if you come into contact with a positive case. If the players were all double jabbed, would this mean there would only be call offs if half a squad went down with it ? If so, why isn't this a priority ?

The double jabbed rate of under 30ís is still comparatively low, would be why these are happening.

General Discussion / Re: Season ticket
« on: August 13, 2021, 11:50:46 AM »
I just personally think SC has got his marketing all wrong. I would of considered a season ticket had it of been a couple of hundred pound or so. I pay for a Norwich season ticket too but that is premier league football so I expect the £440 a year which I pay. I personally wonít be attending many matches due to the inflated cost of everything fan related at KL Town.

Find myself thinking similar. I started following Lynn about 8 years ago when I moved to the area, as it was significantly cheaper than following my boyhood club, and meant I could walk to the ground rather than drive/train. Then I fell in love with the club, and had a season ticket for 5/6 years. Iíve stomached some of the price rises under Cleeve, and kept buying my exponentially increasing season ticket. I didnít get one last year, and at £600 for me and my 5 year old to get a seat for this season, Iíve decided against getting one this year. Will probably go to some of the Saturday games, but supporting a business (itís not a club anymore) run by someone as unsavoury and untrustworthy as Cleeve is something Iím finding difficult to reconcile.

General Discussion / Re: Southend Tickets.

Yes, agreed we could do with some Lynn fan ticket info....only seen the initial twitter post of over 1500 tickets sold incl. 800 for away terrace.

Based on the current numbers, does that mean there is a fair chance Southend will have more fans in than Lynn?
