Hence the case being heard in Crown Court rather than Magistrates. Just for perspective in a Magistrates Court sentencing appears to be of the order of up to £5000 fine and /or a max of 6 months ... and of course he may yet be found not guilty/acquitted

He may, but given that he had stuff in his car, in his house and the magistrates have already passed it up to the Crown Court suggests the case likely has merit.

That Lynn have felt they need to get ahead of the story, given how slow they are normally to react to anything, suggests that something not good has gone on.

Sorry, but we can't blame volunteers for a number of grown men who don't accept their own responsibilities. Why do those "grown men" need to be told by anyone to adhere to Covid regulations? It was quite obvious, that event would be monitored, and a reduced capacity is the outcome. Not the volunteers fault I'm afraid. I managed to stay far enough apart and still see what was going on.

Exactly. Seen a number of quotes today to the affect of ‘I knew I was breaking the rules, but it was wrong for the stewards to tell me I was breaking the rules. They should have stopped from being in a place to break the rules in the first place.’

The fans were in the wrong, the reduction has happened. The club and fans really need to make sure the same doesn’t happen on Saturday, or we might find ourselves playing the first game of the new season behind closed doors as a punishment, rather than due to COVID.

I have a hunch that whoever starts up front for us in August will be players not presntly linked to the club at all. Over 30 and formerly of league 1/2 clubs.

I’ve always thought a ground near the speedway would be the ideal spot if they were to make an out of town ground, most of the infrastructure is already in place. Or on the Gardman site.

Glad to see you can get 3 free hours for use of the park, was one the last free places to park in town, after they put pay and display on the quayside.

General Discussion / Re: Clubs latest accounts

So add in this term 's loan of ?400k ?,(assuming this is to cover next season as well and allowing for say half to be in bank for next year , so worse case scenario could be looking at net liabs to start next season with, of around half a million. Let's hope the Covid climate enables a profitable and successful next season...Lynn and a number of others will need it to be......they need the fans to support them in  the largest possible numbers.......if the remainder of the loan gets used up to keep the club afloat next year, there could be very serious.problems .

With these accounts, and the loan, that gives net debts of £700,000, not factoring in debts accrued during the 2020-21 financial year, which given whats been said will be substantial.
I wouldn’t be surprised of the club had balance sheet of -£1million at present, which is not a good thing for a club at any level, but especially Non-league part-timers.

10(a) Norfolk Senior Cup
A  player  shall  be  eligible  to  play  for  his Club  in  the  above  mentioned Competition provided that he has not started in 10 or more matches for a team that competes at Step 3 or above of the National League System.

Given all the chopping and changing means that half the first team must be eligible.

This year the NSC fixtures are probably more significant than the NL ones now. Could the club have the first team play the remaining rounds?

General Discussion / Re: Kairo Mitchell Leaves for Chesterfield
« on: April 10, 2021, 07:00:02 PM »
I am disappointed to see him go....more so than I was with Marriott.......but it just shows the buying power of these big full time clubs. The Chesterfield manager is getting lots of plaudits for their run, but they have simply achieved that by plundering the likes of Gloucester and Weymouth and now Lynn.
Very, very difficult to keep players when its a full time contract versus a part time one.......and so Lynn have unearthed a few gems during the season and they get picked off just like that.........Carey is also obviously being looked at.

Think we might have Carey until those teams with a transfer window can get involved in buying him.

Since the decision was taken to furlough half the squad and play on bringing in new players, I’ve really lost interest in this season. It didn’t and still doesn’t sit well with me shifting their wages onto taxpayers, then paying others instead. If we’d decided to field the reserve alongside the 6 or so that were ineligible for furlough (having been signed after the furlough deadline, and after we’d received a grant because we were short) that would’ve been one thing, and given them experience of this level, even if most of them probably won’t have a career at NL level. Instead, the approach taken has left me empty. I think and I hope I’ll get motivated to follow the team again come August, but the relegationless rump pre-pre-season league with half the league playing half teams isn’t for me.

I wonder what the future is for FB-T.
Out of contract  this summer, 26 in September and only played 38 minutes of league football this year.

If they only we could have FBT and Norman rampaging up the wings from deep again.

Mike would surely be out very wide on the left wing for the over hit crosses.

Presumably Mair can't be furloughed....think they may consider parking the bus that is SC, MH and Bazza along the six yard line.....maybe at home we can play with the pink ball, which by all accounts has an unguessable flight for most Englishmen....should help even things up

Are the club even paying Mair’s wages, or are they being covered by Norwich? You never know how loan deals are drawn up.

Could possibly be a couple of Norwich reserves/U18’s we have making up the numbers, rather than our own reserves, if they want them to get game time.

General Discussion / Re: Trust
« on: February 25, 2021, 11:36:29 AM »
So what’s the actual point of the money and let’s be honest trust has been making off the back of the club for years ,the club is struggling through a pandemic and you have a fans trust supporters and all you’re interested in is gaining some kind of control of the club instead of helping it out ,if there had been no pandemic the club would not be in this position ,how about putting it to the fans about helping the club instead of closing ranks and wishing the club would fold so trust can get their hands on the club ,

The point of the money is the long term stability of a football club playing at the Walks in Kings Lynn. At the minute the trusts funds wouldn’t even solve the problem, and would prevent the trust acting in the future. When the club might need rescuing from oblivion, rather than providing life-support to an unsustainable financial structure exacerbated by the current crisis. The best thing for the club long term would be to stop playing like Dover has announced, even if it means demotion.

Picture the scenario: the club find a way to limp to the end of the year, just. Then they have to field a very uncompetitive side in the 21/22 season due to large scale cuts. The club find themselves in NLN again and SC loses interest in the club now that it’s going backwards. A situation like that, the trust funds would be useful. Right now, it would be as useful as Cnut shouting at the waves.

The Chairman must have sumink up his sleeve if he is still
Prepared to shell out full monies for the next two games.    If there was no hope surely the  plug would be pulled straight away. No point in throwing good money after bad.

Or he might be waiting to see what happens to Dover first.
