General Discussion / INJURIES
« on: October 16, 2021, 07:28:49 PM »
We really seem to be down to the bare bones now. Only 3 subs today and Rowley apparently on the way back to Chesterfield before his dreadful injury.
By todays line up that leaves us with 13 players plus Bowry, Bird, Morias & King all injured.
Do we recall Taylor & Fleming ?

Anyone know what the JR tribunal as mentioned by SC in his EDP column is about ?

Another midfielder, 45 games 2 goals is not going to solve our striker problem.

I think A47 Linnet & B&G you are incorrect as looking at Wisbech's last 4 team sheets he does not appear on any of them.
Injured ?

Not been playing for Wisbech, is he injured ?

Always looking for a negative response B&G. A goal is a goal whether it be a penalty or some other way.

Or more accurately 18 goals in 34 matches ( all comps ).

General Discussion / PRE-SEASON ENDED

Whilst I appreciate we have played several friendlies lately I cannot believe that we will now not play for 2 weeks especially coming after a loss yesterday.
If the result yesterday shows anything it is we need more game time for everyone to get up to speed especially as some have played so few minutes.
The last thing we need is a few poor games at the start of the league season which will mean playing catch up for the rest of the season.
New signings definitely needed to strengthen up front and central defence otherwise an injury or two and we will be in deep trouble.

That was not what I meant KES80.
What was meant was that because there had been no comments on the result that a draw against the 2nd place team was obviously felt not worthy of comment by usual posters but continuous comments regarding substitutes is.

Looking at the lack of interest of last nights result it makes me wonder what IC and the players have to do to get some credit from the posters on this site.
Narrowly lose to Sutton ( league leaders ) followed by a draw against Hartlepool (2nd in league ) is obviously not good enough under the circumstances.
Paragraph after paragraph is written about substitutes but when the team does well not a word.  :comeon:

Fantastic result tonight with all involved putting in a great shift.
Only blemish is both centre halves being substituted presumably injured.

I think today showed that with Jones back and Barrows moving to the left instead of Brown that we were far more solid in defence than we had been for several games.
Brown looks good going forward but is a bit lightweight defensively.
Terrific result, especially being the first team to stop them scoring so far this season.
A home goal would have been the icing on the cake.  :scarf

Sad to see today's match was to be his last behind the camera, he's done a terrific job in covering the games over the last couple of seasons.

With all the discussion surrounding future fixtures regarding ground capacity it seems that Saturdays game has been completely overlooked.
I would like to see the same system as we used at Barnet where we set out not to concede and hope to get a goal on the break or take the game to penalties.

General Discussion / EDP TODAY

If you have not read it look at the SC report In the EDP today with regard to the new set up reference training.
It seems this is taking us to a new level and only a step away from Full Time.
Let's hope it brings about an improvement in form.
