General Discussion / Re: Street departs

Sad to see him go, but as a City fan I was sad to see Joe Hart go, but heyho things change, times move on and am more than happy with Ederson. Personally I don't see see it as a great character trait that Street wasn't prepared to stick it out and prove to the manager he could be the number one number one. I've only seen the Yeovil game this season and in my honest opinion he looked the weak link, flappy on high balls, poor punching, poor positioning and generally out of his depth, maybe better suited to being a big fish in a small pond ??

Wrong way round B &G
Affect is a verb, effect is a noun.
The person has been affected by an event...verb/doing word
The effect of his action was ........noun

Blimey, are you reading this Jesus, it's like being back in a Whitmarsh Knight lesson

General Discussion / Re: FA YOUTH CUP
« on: October 12, 2020, 06:40:27 PM »
I see that on the home page that the Youth team are at home next tuesday to Cambridge City. Spectators are allowed and adults will be 7 children free.
Best i get my old KES short trousers out see if i can get in for free!
I wonder if the teams have agreed this seemingly rather high amount especially if the Lynn team is made up of players helping out Downham Town Reserves in the Anglian Comb where i would imagine the entrance for league games is ZERO.

I wonder if because it's "only" a youth game the electricity suppliers let the club have power for the floodlights etc for free ?

General Discussion / I don't believe it

Start of a new season, great point at home against a top non league club, even better away win tonight and people more interested in state of a flag, list of opponents sponsors, and spelling of a nickname, get a grip lads, enjoy the results, enjoy the football, enjoy the journey

I see Cambridge Utd and Calderwood have parted company, hope they don't come sniffing our way for a replacement

From the commentary it sounded like Power going to be hell of an asset, what did those who were there think ?

All games on River Lane are off again, water from the Walks must link into the same system, is the Millfleet outfall being opened to allow the water out?

Thank you Tony, very fair, balanced and informative report.
What did you think to the evening Griss ?, as one who has often requested a Q n A session with the chairman and that money making events take place I presume you went ?

:farmer: :oldman" I was reading earlier today that York City have sold the naming  rights to there new stadium for next season to LNER (London Noth Eastern Railways , I believe), this is obviously good for them financially and a guaranteed income for next season already sorted. This is where the difference in the team behind the team are, we struggle to sell our sponsorship opportunities yet they are already sorting out next season. I realise they are ex league, but they are now in the same league as us, so therefore we need to be trying to pull in more sponsorship. Why, oh why, do KLTFC seem unable to attract sponsors? ( please do not blame the chairman). There are many large companies around West Norfolk, we really do need to keep banging on there doors while we are riding the crest of the wave and sell this football club to them.  :farmer: :oldman"
Dazza, I said before (not to your post but in general) we may have large companies in the area but very few and far between large LOCAL companies, by local I mean owned and run by local people with coonections to our area, and by large I mean hundreds of local employees with a product/service that is sold nationwide and a company that would benefit from having its name attached to our club. In these financial times money is tight for all businesses and they would need to see some "gain" from sponsoring a football club.

I think there's more of a problem with drainage all over the town ( not caused just by the rain ). Games on River Lane are off again, they say it's down to the sluice in the Walks not being opened thus not allowing the rivers thro gaywood to lower thus not allowing the pitches to drain, I presume water from our pitch drains into same system but can't go anywhere and backs up.
