From the commentary it sounded like Power going to be hell of an asset, what did those who were there think ?

All games on River Lane are off again, water from the Walks must link into the same system, is the Millfleet outfall being opened to allow the water out?

Thank you Tony, very fair, balanced and informative report.
What did you think to the evening Griss ?, as one who has often requested a Q n A session with the chairman and that money making events take place I presume you went ? 20
General Discussion / Re: GATESHEAD.« on: December 01, 2019, 10:58:13 PM »Dazza, I said before (not to your post but in general) we may have large companies in the area but very few and far between large LOCAL companies, by local I mean owned and run by local people with coonections to our area, and by large I mean hundreds of local employees with a product/service that is sold nationwide and a company that would benefit from having its name attached to our club. In these financial times money is tight for all businesses and they would need to see some "gain" from sponsoring a football club. 21

I think there's more of a problem with drainage all over the town ( not caused just by the rain ). Games on River Lane are off again, they say it's down to the sluice in the Walks not being opened thus not allowing the rivers thro gaywood to lower thus not allowing the pitches to drain, I presume water from our pitch drains into same system but can't go anywhere and backs up.

Good idea I think. Friends otl always sounded a bit like a closed shop to me, a Supporters club sounds more open and may attract more people

Has anybody any idea what his ailment is ? He seems to have been "ill" for rather a long time . Will he come back? Is he still with us?

I'm loving the positiveness being shown on here, and the "rallying of the troops", but is it to any avail? If people are reading it on here it's like preaching to the converted, we somehow need to get the message out to the general public who are not members of this forum

Seems to me the easiest, quickest most obvious , although short term way to generate more income is the get more bodies through the gate.
What about posters up in local schools, contact local youth leagues, most kids will bring a paying adult with them. Just need to generate new interest from new faces, can't expect the hard core regulars to keep dipping into their pockets. Are the events in the B n G advertised externally? If only on here and forums etc it's a kinda captive audience. 29

General Discussion / Re: Who was/is the better striker: Defty or Marriot ?« on: November 09, 2019, 09:54:32 PM »
Defty or Gash more comparable than Defty or Marriott , they're two completely different types of striker, imo
