General Discussion / Re: FA Cup

There are many reasons to watch Lynn rather than Norwich. Here are some:
1. The admission is cheaper
2. Tea is 1.50 rather than the 2.00 at Carrow Road
3. The chance to see local players, all of whom seem proud to wear the shirt. Unlucky with two of the summer signings who couldn't be bothered to keep themselves fit over the Summer.
4  Not so long to queue at the loos
5. Room to breathe as more space in the stand
6. Able to move around the ground
I am a Norwich season ticket holder would'nt want any special offers at Lynn; a boarded up ground and no local football is still in the memory. Glad to have a local team at step 3 to support.

What stood out in this game was the commitment of the players, teamwork and until he went off the unhurried and thoughtful distribution of the ball by Gary Mills. The introduction of Spencer Weir-Daley for Kettering at half time made the difference( he is a quality player to have at this level with particular success as a goal scorer and provider when he played for Boston United)I should imagine his services do no come cheap for Kettering.
I thought the referee was not the best I have ever seen.
Overall, an enjoyable and entertaining afternoon. Great to see the travelling support of some 150, who played a good part in the proceedings.

In the same game Joe Francis scored two goals for Leiston. Now he was a player who could score for fun!

I have been looking at their squad on the website. They have an emphasis on youth with three of their players with a Date of birth of 1st August 2016!!!

Well done on three points gained today and the continuation of a steady climb up the table.

Good to see the first win today. Quigley was my MOM.
Hope the two injured players are o.k.

I missed the midweek game so observations are based on the Merthyr game.
Lack of positive verbal communication on the pitch . Leon Mettam was captain for the game. Early in the game Liam Fryatt made an error with a throw in and LM had a go at him. Should be the responsibility of the more mature players to encourage the younger players?? Liam received heavy criticism for committing the foul for the late penalty,; at St Neots Dan Quigley fouled to concede two penalties ( no criticism given !!) In part-time football it is the responsibility of the players to get fit and stay fit. John Sands let Setch down on this ( he managed 60 minutes only for Needham the other night!) The " big" signings have not been good for Lynn in recent years e.g. Julian Joachim, Gareth Sheldon, Jake Speight. The one exception being Lee Stevenson who travels from Sheffield and always gives 100 per cent.
Shame about Kern ; had a really good season last year and probably was at Lynn more than he had been at any other club. It is just as difficult to get to Stamford from Lincoln, as it is to get to Lynn??, perhaps he gets a lift from another player.
However, I am sure any success this year will be brought about by the maturing and developing younger players we have.
Looking forward to tomorrow. Win, lose or draw we have football and incidentally without the involvement of people such as Mr Chapman and Mr Cleeve we wouldn't have a team to support and talk about.

A few ideas:
School of the week. A school is invited to send pupils to a home game to act as ball boys/ ball girls and to play a five a side at half time.
Community heroes. Local groups/ individuals introduced to the crowd and applauded for the support they have given either as individuals or as a group within the community
Competitions. Not the dreaded cross bar challenge from Carrow Road but ball in a skip ( target practice).

I imagine that any potential shirt sponsor would like to be part of a group that is actively part of the community.
I just thought I might register for the Forum to add something that is just not criticism or protracted discussion about pints and burgers!!
