Congratulations to Setch and his team for achieving step 4 football next season. If they win on Saturday they get the UCL title as well. Three promotions achieved. Well done that man!

Just been on holiday in Buxton
and read in the local paper that they are having a 3G pitch this summer. Just been approved by the local council who saw it was a good idea because of the community and school useage potential. They have had problems with waterlogging this season.

Not like Friday's banger racing with large fluorescent green posters banging on all the way through Lynn from the A17 to the A149 at Sandringham causing a distraction to drivers and
possibly breaking the law.

So there was some bad behaviour. E.g. The drum in the bar and jumping on chairs and tables at half time as well as a Lynn supporter having his headphones stolen at the end of the game. Why was inappropriate behaviour tolerated in the bar? Why was the drum allowed in?
The flare thrower needs identifying asap and needs to be banned along with anyone condoning it!

Great fun if anyone had been injured or the FA ordered the game to be replayed behind closed doors!!

Certainly good in the Redditch game, linking well with Hawkins as well as playing some intelligent balls into the box. Also, good on switching the play e.g. Cross field balls to Norman when the opportunity arose. Kept Dion the Redditch goal machine in check, particularly as the game progressed. Almost scored as well.

Hopefully you will see a better game than last time Nigel. Saturday gave a lot of encouragement to be optimistic. Apparently, IC changed his game plan Saturday when he saw the state of the pitch ( muddy and uneven) If he has the same plan we should be fine. A good plan is to score more goals than the opposition! I don't think we need to be too sophisticated. Saturday the team worked well for each other; including a few cute back heels and pressing the opposition in the final third. They looked as if they were enjoying playing; it was certainly enjoyable to watch. We score a lot of goals from penalties but I suppose if our players weren't fouled in the box we would score more from open play.

Message for the Colchester United scouts. Cameron Norman is a really bad player! (lOl) I thought the guy with a note book in the main stand was just writing a shopping list; perhaps it was a Santa wish list! Get him on to a contract Mr Cleeve please - and quickly!

Don't forget the Slough game 1947! Great win today and performances by the whole team.
Good to see Lappin play 90 minutes today and now he seems fully fit, a great signing!
Mettam did well today when coming on as sub ; good in the game management e.g. Holding the ball in the corner etc.
Major influence by Cameron Norman ( one great goal after beating two players and almost another! ) Won numerous free kicks) and Ryan Hawkins.
So, three away games now. St Neots will be the most difficult and at least a point will be good.

A good report and great to see Tom Ward recognised for his contribution. However, about time for our forwards to start scoring goals. We seem to rely upon Clunan's penalties, long range shots from Hawkins and Norman plus the occasional Gash goal. Not a lot else in the offering and the play-offs to look forward to at best, which will be an improvement upon last season!

General Discussion / Re: Three points clear
« on: November 14, 2017, 10:38:16 PM »
An excellent win tonight and a very good second half performance. The first half was poor with a load of hoof ball but once Gash scored it seemed to give Lynn a lot of confidence. A goal made by Hawkins and he went on to score two really good goals and hit the post. Royston seemed to implode after the first goal and were pretty physical but not very skilful.
So three points clear at the top and quite a lot of daylight appearing between the top five and the rest of the league. Another clear Saturday after the Basingstoke game and a long trip for Hereford on what will probably be a cold winter's Tuesday night in January.
Hawkins was rightly m.o.m. Gash also a contender with Lappin and Clunan. The whole team had a good second half.

General Discussion / Beans on toast!
« on: November 13, 2017, 07:42:36 PM »
Just seen Wisbech Town, Paul Bastock and Setch on " Look East" including a stunning volley from Michael Frew! Apparently, their pre match preparation includes beans on toast which probably gives them a following wind on the pitch. I wonder what the Linnets have pre match!
