A nice touch of irony jackdaw. I think!

I thought Gash was a bit of a nomadic warrior on Saturday, working harder than many of the other players and probably getting increasingly frustrated as when he got hold of the ball there was no one close enough to develop the move ( Mettam now has a big man with him on the pitch, so no more excuses!)I thought there was quite a lot of hoof ball, hit and hope that the Chesham defenders handled with apparent ease Where were the defenders when Chesham seized possession and scored?. In saying that thought Gaughan and Street had good games on the whole.

Hope GH enjoys the six hundred mile round trip to Barrow from Norfolk unless he is relocating to the north. The A47 , A17 and a lot of other s--ty roads in the winter!

Rainfall no more than 1mm per hour; clearing by approx. 1-00 p.m. ( I am not a meteorologist; just looked at the met office rainfall radar).

General Discussion / Re: Mildenhall at Home FA Trophy
« on: October 30, 2017, 08:29:46 AM »
Congratulstions to Mildenhall.
Let's hope Mildenhall don't share their game plan with the other teams we will be playing.
Sounds like some "fans" can't behave themselves. Hopefully, they are identified and banned, particularly if punches were thrown!
Positives from the game.
Will save 20 per Lynn FA trophy home game for the rest of the season ( admission, fuel, refreshments).
No player will be injured in FA trophy action.

IC sounded fairly relaxed when interviewed about the game on Radio Norfolk; hopefully he was not so relaxed when talking to his players about the stunning effort they made on the pitch!

Anyway, to next Saturday. A draw or win and Lynn will be TOP OF THE LEAGUE!

The last two home games have seen an improvement in attendances, perhaps an extra 500 or 600 through the gate. So perhaps an extra 5000- 6000 revenue! O.k as long as we keep being successful on the pitch!

The Dunstable programme is an excellent read. I particularly enjoyed the Chairman's notes; full of positivity and praise and not a hint of criticism of anyone in the community!!

We could lose to Kettering, Slough and Hereford and still win the league! If we only get to the play-offs we will have to beat two of them to get promoted! It is important that we beat the weaker teams( there will be no easy games; teams coming to the Walks will enjoy playing at a nice stadium and performing in front of a large crowd) and also use the opportunity over the next few games to work towards a bigger goal difference. Should be top of the league after Tuesday's game and should still be there at the end of the month! The really tough games will be against  the three teams mentioned above; plus the likes of Merthyr, Tiverton and Basingstoke away.

General Discussion / Re: Cameron Norman
« on: October 15, 2017, 08:40:17 AM »
I hope no scouts read the forum. If so, hands off !! Cameron is being successful at Lynn because his talent is being nurtured and developed . He is part of a team that has a big chance of achieving step 2 football but only if the existing squad is kept together. The only scouts we want at Lynn is perhaps a local troop who can act as ball boys/girls who can scale the ladders to retrieve the footballs from the dyke!

A win at Dunstable will take Lynn top of the league!

1966 gate ! ( a really good footballing year and one when we could enjoy watching the national team)
Great to see that Grant and Simon have made Norfolk their family homes. I have previously posted re: lack of game changers on the bench; that has now been addressed! The opportunity now exists for our younger players to develop even more ( i.e. Toby and Dylan ) and they will need to do it rapidly!!

General Discussion / Re: 10 games in.
« on: October 08, 2017, 10:20:22 PM »
Must be better than last season as we are in a play off position and will be there at the end of the season with Slough, Hereford and Weymouth. Kettering will win the league as they have a strong squad and we won't be as there are no game changers on our bench, although Siddons did fulfil that role on St Ives. Time for Toby to score some goals!
We have a run of fixtures coming up against teams in the lower half of the table; maximum points would be useful.

There should be enough pride in the team/management to want to win every game and hopefully IC will have words with any players who didn't perform well enough yesterday. Yes, there were changes to the regular starting eleven but I think the defence was pretty much the usual players and they failed against lower league opposition! Any Lynn supporters who went deserve better.
Well done the Reserves yesterday!
