General Discussion / Re: Away win

Credit where its due: an excellent three points. I can only base my view on results and comment as i no longer go to matches but are the tactics and the way the team is set up better suited to away than home games?

You'd be correct in that thinking.

They got David Newton we got Stephen Cleeve.
Agreed, but the difference is they inform their fans what is being planned and happening behind the scenes. The fans over there feel connected to the club.

A community club that truly values its SUPPORTERS.

The Boston chairman has also had his fair share of critics even up until the last few weeks on how the club is run including lack of communication and backing Culverhouse for too long when it clearly wasn't working.

Kind of irrelevant really considering we're not a part time club....unless you know something even the club don't.

Dean only got Peterborough promoted due to a big budget and them "forgetting" to pay the tax bill. Allegedly has a big budget at Spalding....if rumours of what a certain former ex-Lynn striker is on are true, Sembie-Ferris is another who isn't on peanuts so to speak. Out of his depth at step 2 - the biggest budget in the league and flopped at Scunthorpe.

Setchell does a decent job wherever he goes, and always keep an eye out on how he id doing, but I'm a believer in never going back and not sure he's the right manager to get a club out of step 2 which obviously this club want to do.

Interesting comments Tony.  If there is no Jo next season and no other outside  investment  coming into the Club then maybe part time will be the natural outcome.    We were discussing this on the way home tonight.  As a part time Club who would the fans want in as Manager?

A.  Jimmy Dean B. Michael Gash C. Gary Setchell.  All 3 hare enjoying reasonably successful years at varying levels.

Who would Lynn fans go for ?

If those were the only choices (god help us) it would have to be Gash (with Luke Steele).

Need more than God to help us!

Maybe SC could find us another Simon Clark or Mark Hughes.  Then you are spot on with God help us Paul. :laughcry:

Sometimes it’s better the devil you know

You're obviously easily pleased if you'd want Setchell or Dean here as manager!

Word on the terraces is its done and dusted and Jo is the new man on the block :dontknow:

If you don't mind Jono, I'll wait for the club to communicate this to it's Supporters.  :laughcry:

Doesn't usually stop you  :phone:

Decent 0-0 between two evenly matched sides. As other said we were better in first half but Brackley had us under the cosh in second, but we defended well for the 90 minutes. Plenty of commitment from both sides which, personally speaking, is what I want from my team.

Seen much worse games.

I did wonder why someone made a return to the forum when the subject of lack of signings was mentioned.

🤭

Don't know much about Warburton but decent goal record at a good level so look forward to watching him.

Next time I stay away from the forum, I'll check with your good self if it's ok to return. Nice to know you care though.

Both the chairman and manager have said there is money to bring in new players, but I'll keep quiet as it appears the usual suspects on here (think they) know more than them. Fair play.

As long as you know Paul, I wouldn't bother being over concerned about things

What else would they say? 😅

Personally, I'd rather hear that from Jo or Bal.

Could that be arranged?

Despite not posting for most of the season, some things just don't change do they?

Here's to the rest of the season, some better performances and hopefully a play-off place.   :welcome: :scarf:

Every one knows what our problem is we have Strikers that are not firing on all clenders J M isn’t the player he was and has for Gold he has lost his ability to score, the biggest problem imo is getting people players to come over here

I can't believe that Adam Lakeland would not have signed someone by now if he really had the money available. I know the Club has the issue of geographical location, but obviously that's always been the case and always will be. If a decent player was offered the right terms he would be here irrespective of our location. Not having the money available is probably down to the still unresolved situation between Jo and Cleeve.

Adam has given reasons why he hasn't signed players, and I didn't expect him to say anything else. It's what Managers do.

 :bus:

Didn't we pay a fee for Omotayo & Williams and agree a free with Warrington for Connor Woods before he signed for Chester? Also spoke to Sam Osbourne before he joined Alfreton. So it does appear backing is there.

That's Then and Now Paul. Gold was here for start of season and Williams came in September. That's 5 months ago. We obviously had a few quid at start of season but doesn't mean we have any now. We didn't get Osbourne so that's more likely down to lack of money on offer rather than having proving sufficient funds available now.

On the subject of Williams, where was he last night? If he's only going to bench warm (or not even do that), wouldn't it be best to get him out on loan and recoup some money.

Could say the same for Gold. Strikers are always the most expensive so if he's only going to be a bit part player for us, why not sell? We can't be the only club looking for a striker so he could be worth a few bob. Why not cash in, release some money, and go for someone that better suits Adams plans (and can score a few goals)?

So how come we agreed a fee for Connor Woods only a month ago if money is the issue, which you appear to be saying it is?

As for selling Omotayo.....only one club would be silly enough to pay a fee for him. Unfortunately that's us.
