General Discussion / Re: CLUNAN GONE.
« on: March 03, 2022, 08:00:18 PM »
From a personal point of view the Football I saw played by IC’s teams at step 3 and then step 2 was the best I’ve seen at Lynn ( and away).   Off the Field was a mess.  That’s a given.

Two great seasons football wise.  You disagree with that side of things Chilly ?
Yes good seasons of football up and to including the York game but then promotion by default, Then although Covid gets blamed for everything not being relegated as we deserved to be.
Off the field absolute disaster.
Total lack of sponsorship. Total lack of commercial activity. Quoted vastly overpriced figures for team kit sponsors, board sponsors etc, vastly overpriced to hire the Blue and Gold and facilities, perhaps why there have been substantially less functions in the past 5 years than there was in the previous 25. Overpriced bar prices, food prices (until recently), admission prices, programme etc etc where do you want me to stop.

How many commercial managers have we employed, how many bar stewards.A weekday secretary has anyone ever seen. Crap clubshop and range of merchandise. Lack of stock and despatching of paid orders. The then kitman coming to me of his own back to change names on playing shirts because not given new kit appropriately named. Full time playing staff, what a shambles that is. We are substantially worse there than we have been  part-time. Houses for players that complain of no heat etc etc. 80pence frozen meals cooked in a microwave at training much to the players disgust. A scout who was paid a huge amount of money to find the next Wayne Rooney. Ha Ha Ha. Zero, zilch at great cost.
And best of all £500k handed to you know who to spend frivolously and the taxpayers will have the pleasure of paying that back.

So yes we have had some exciting games but so the club has had right through its existance.
We are currently the laughing stock of non league football and particularly in the East of England.

Good post Realist.   A two level drop would take us back to the level we were at when SC bought the Club.

Was it an enjoyable ride.  Has to be a big yes
Really Mallard? A big yes? Please explain what iota of good has come out of this tenure apart for the glory on someone's checkered CV.

General Discussion / Re: Tommy out
« on: February 28, 2022, 07:53:40 PM »
I think the thing with Tommy is we don't really know what he has inherited - what sort of a state the club is in, both on and off the pitch.

So, he will need time to sort it out - if it is a mess and if he is the man for the job.

Football is a results business (as we all know) and at the moment he isn't getting the results - be that down to his tactics/selection, or the players or a combination of both.
What makes my sides hurt is people using aliases that post about other people using aliases.
If something is true and worth posting have the guts to use your real name.

I listened to him on Radio Norfolk after the match and he was clearly unhappy, but he put part of the blame on the pitch........now personally, I will never see the state of a pitch as a reason for a defeat - it's the same for all 22 players out there and Maidenhead's players managed to score four times on that 'bad' pitch

The jury is still out for me with Tommy Widdrington.
Personally I think this season is over and sadly we will be relegated, so if Tommy sticks around, it will be next season we can judge him properly
This jury finds him guilty get him out not good enough I can take a defeat if players are giving their all and fighting for the cause this lot couldn’t fight the clowns at knights hill circus, we need some deftys quigleys bunting and dunkleys who wore the shirt with pride and passion not like these fools only here for their pay packet

You say the jurys out, how many does the jury consist of so far only so certain members of this forum. I mean certain members are fake names consisting of a ex manager and ex director of football (or they were the last time I and many others knew)

Hes inherited half the team for god sake! I sit back and read the forum and half the time I laugh that hard my sides hurt. Get behind the team and support them. Give Tommy a chance at step 2.

Leiston FC@leistonfc🔵⚪️ NEW ✍️ ⬇️⬇️⬇️ ⚪️🔵

The Blues are delighted to announce the signing of defender Baris Altintop to the club. The 21 year old signs on a month’s loan from @officialKLtown. Baris has also played for @BuryTownFC and @AFCSudbury. Welcome to Leiston Baris!
So who officially signed him for KLTFC, SC or IC because he has not played a single minute in well over 3 months. How much has that cost the club?
Hope you get your moneys worth Leiston!

Quarter past 2 and I'm trudging through the walks thinking this is quiet, 6quid in the parking meter. At least I didn't come from Bromley I guess

Being as fans are being asked to donate towards managers and clubs fines, perhaps the club can ask for monies to refund your parking ticket at least.  That's a far better idea than suggesting to pay fines when the manager and players cannot control themselves on seemingly a refusal of a penalty.
As i said a few weeks ago , no pitch prepared, game off  and no need to therefore have a squad.
Likewise no referee, no game, no need to have a team.
Perhaps if we were to get our own house in order first and foremost!

Hopefully another postponement tomorrow. Better to wait until we get a team capable of winning a match.
Season ends in May!

Don't think many expected to come away with a point tonight? :dontknow: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
Great result, although im sure GC et al will blame Mr C for not coming away with all 3
If you are frightened by the truth being posted rather than listening to BULL**** then keep wearing your blinkers.
BTW great point last night the Linnets my team for the past 60 years.

New Bentley for the Chairman!   :countingmoney:
Their chairman remortgaged his house to survive covid! We just borrowed a massive amount and made the bottom line a sorrier state.

What an amazing achievement. Just shows that you can chase the league and cups and a huge amount of money further with Everton in the next round.
Well done to everyone involved.

when we remember the pitches, the leather footballs with laces, boots with toe caps. Todays ballerinas in boots that resemble glorified slippers!
They would never have survived 50 years ago.
