General Discussion / Re: Wrexham at home 🤔
« on: November 13, 2021, 05:24:54 PM »
The similarities to the recent Norwich situation are obvious..much admired manager who let players go and re-built a new team without large funding. The results are the same, neither has managed the impossible and things need to change. Norwich have taken the plunge, in the hope that different structure may keep their status alive. Lynn are different and for sure, looking at the low attendance today in fair weather conditions, are in an awful place on and off the pitch. If the manager is still in place for the next match, it will indicate that Mr Cleeve has abandoned his dream of taking this little club to the football League and Lynn have found there absolute max in the football world without to much of a crash...Safely drop to the level below or the next one, but still have a club. Hopefully no trouble, it did not seem to be.

The ground is to small to escape from the foul mouthed aggressive groups that gather at most games.

It is hardly a family day out , even for the classic father and son it is grim. Then the elders wanting to watch a football match in stable condition become vulnerable and concerned, Toxic..sort them out now...

Personally I would say IC is a very talented coach and as this level is fairly new to him, he is having to take on very swiftly what works and doesn't work with the personnel he has at his disposal.

Just as there is a huge jump in playing ability from NLN to NL, so there is a huge jump in coaching ability. IC is now competing with some talented and very savvy coaches.
I do not get this bit from your post "he is having to take on very swiftly what works and doesn't work with the personnel he has at his disposal."
He has at his disposal what he decided to bring to the club...surely he had plan in mind on each individual, and did not just gather a bunch and then , as you say "take on very swiftly what works and doesn't work with the personnel he has at his disposal."...You are correct about the other stuff, and indeed he may be one of the least experienced MANAGERS at this level, which may be telling now. All in all though on the theme he has done well and the memories of the current regime are good, just looking a little out of it all lately.

Enjoy it Gordon, it is a little short term fun for a village club. Certainly this "blip" in the village football world has little influence or worthwhile mention whilst we discuss the demise of KLTFC. Always nice to hear from you..

3-0 Home, Lynn like last year just plugging gaps with regular new signings, and again no time to gel as a unit and no evidence of a settled side/squad since the start of the pandemic. This is with a Manager now struggling at the highest level he has held  that position, like players managers can only go so far. Hopefully I am wrong with the score line ...Good Luck Lynn

It is not just the number of people watching, its the whole thing, ground....sponsorship.....playing structure with succession plans...and of course Money...Lynn are just not funded or set up for this level. However this is just at the present. The future may be different the current regime and structure is not strong enough for this at the present time. The only possible outcome for this season is that other teams with similar weakness end the season below Lynn. Even this may be negative because, even without anything published, the debts must be mounting. .
The match by match situation, before Christmas, is very much like during the pandemic with player being added ad hoc just to make numbers and absolutely no sign of a settled side and squad.  ............. It may well be all over...but they have not told us yet...

According to the Lynn News report, Barrett and Taylor both out with hamstring issues.

It said on Radio Norfolk that Barrett's injury was related to the the one he picked up at Bristol Rovers in February.
If so another flaw is exposed, obviously a physical and injury history assessment (medical) should have been thoroughly completed. This should have identified this frailty, hiring and paying injured players at this level is not very bright.

Yes, but leave this out, it could be very personal, find a more appropriate example of criticism, directed at the clubs communications. Astounded!!!

If the attendance does not increase as the level of the game climbs, then it is a sure indicator that the club has gone beyond the level it should be. Histon , Rushdon etc etc ...The public either do not like the price or there just is not the interest, until a play off final or cup run is on offer. Two levels to high....

I fear you are spot on. At this level Lynn are inevitably going to struggle ON the pitch to keep their heads above water, full time or not, and the facts are that at these admission prices, unless the team is winning, a lot of people who have come for years on and off, are not going to turn up.
I can’t see the current situation being sustainable for long but I just hope we don’t fall down as far as the two clubs you mentioned did, when sadly, things go “bang”!
The Key word you added to my post, in reply is sustainable...with these attendance without a sustained sponsor, then yes Bang is the result.
