That's the Tory way Mall.......same rationale for self employed...instead of a basic level universal income,  pay out at 80%,then 70%,then 20%of previous year's profits...great if your profits are high and horrible if they are relatively low....just increases the gap and to many people, just not fair.

Not quite as simple as that Kes. It was capped at a maximum of an average of £50,000 over the preceding 3 years. If your average over the preceding 3 years was £50,001, you get nothing.

Self employed were also allowed to continue to work, whereas employed who were furloughed were not.

And dare I say it, there's very often a reason why a lot of self employed peoples net profit are low.   :laughcry:

Aahhhh wasn't really a wish mallardÖ....its just he's rather easy to read....... :Sherlock:
When he has something to say or a gripe or moan, he uses the podcast as a platform to do that.
Like you said it was a very staged and rehearsed question time with one of the local lads..... :farmer:
I have a feeling that there could be another quick on the heels of this one.
Does make me laugh how he belittles the trust by saying it is a group of only about 80 fans.....but its quite obvious he reads this forum or even takes part (who knows)......and even then feels he has to comment on some ones opinion...... :dontknow:

Precisely b&g...and hes right.
There is and never will be any sense of reality or compassion towards lower league clubs from the premier league.
For one...several of them were quite happy to walk away and form a European elite league
And two.....when the likes of Liverpool (initially)Spurs who are happy to furlough their own non playing staff....but are quite happy to fork out £40m £30m etc on new players....what hope do we have of them handing over money to non league teams that they have no allegiance to.
Football unfortunately at the very elite level is in a sorry state and all they are worried about is themselves and not the good of the game... :rain: :glum:

When you look at one player....bale being paid 650K a week....a week. Therein lies footballs problem.. (not that I am blaming bale or any other player for taking what they're offered....I would)... :bankrupt:

General Discussion / Re: Could be 1000 allowed in on opening day

Unfortunately I fear that if the season starts with an empty stadium restriction in place...the national league may well start with 23 teams....but depending on how long that restriction lasts it will almost certainly not finish with 23

He might not agree with the way the club is run, but should he then take it upon himself to write letters to KES slating the club and itís senior members.?

a) Did he really write a letter to Kes? If he did, surely Kes should not have disclosed the contents of such a letter written to them, to the Club?  :dontknow:

b) If he did (and well within in everyone's right to write letter to whoever they want to), did he really slate the Club or its senior members? Could it be nothing more than a personal point of view that some don't agree with?  :dontknow:

The answer to a. I believe is...information will always be given out if the "right" person asks for it from the source... :gossip:

I've been waiting for the sensible rant...where is it?..:dontknow:

A sad day that keith should resort to that  :red card:...if indeed it's true...whatever his reasons for doing equally sad day that 2 local lads were part of the decision..:glum:....if indeed that parts true as well... :dontknow:

Does this mean the first team canít train together now for X number of days? It canít help the preperation in readiness for the opening day.

I guess this is the way things will be for sometime to come.

I guess it doesn't mean they can't train together...the ladies twitter feed said that they'd trained last night in preparation for the w/end.
So have the club received the test results??

As you say b&g it's not solely a football problem....take a drive by the adrian flux stadium on a saturday....see how many are there...and look at the social distancing on display..... :dontknow:

This may cause havoc to most leagues this year with teams calling off games at short notice. Will we be able to finish the season in full or are there contingency plans in place to manage curtailed league/s  :dontknow:

Best wishes to the affected family and all others concerned - keep safe all.

Once the season kicks off, I can see plenty of situations like St. Mirrenís current one. It seems the emphasis may be on the games happening so long as a team can put 11 bodies, any 11, on the pitch. Could lead to some odd fixtures over the course of the season.

Could also lead to alot of ducking and diving of fixtures... :dontknow:
