Afternoon Dilly !

Well at least you agree that there was a mis match between Power and the rest of the team.

However, unsurprisingly :laughcry: :laughcry: your suggestion that the team should fit around or change their style or up their game for one man is preposterous.....you have exposed yourself at last
 :laughcry:

IMO Power was simply too quick on his feet for most of the squad to keep up.....and there was a tendency to over use him when other options would have been better.

Wish him all the best at Harrogate.....in a professional full time set up, with speedier players all around him, he may become more part of a team, rather than a lone ranger.

Just reflecting on the strange events of yesterday and feel a little bemused.
If someone had asked me at the start of the season as to whether the Trophy would be of interest this season, I would have said no, absolutely not, just concentrate on staying in the league.

Fast forward 3/4 months and my answer is different. There was an extra 3750 plus revenue from future rounds lost yesterday........just 3 further matches to get to Wembley and provide a little relief from the grind of the league and extra belief and interest for squad and fans alike. Would a maximum of 3 more matches really derail the league effort....I think it unlikely.

Things may stabilise , virus wise, from here on in, but if not and if league football has to stop for the season, the Trophy might have provided some remaining interest....as Hornchurch are finding....had they lost yesterday that probably would have been the end of their season.

So all in all a disappointing day yesterday.......inconsistency in performance (and for various reasons, the inability to get a settled eleven out on the pitch) continue  to be an issue. Perhaps with the departure of Power, who to my mind tho talented, wasn't a natural fit with the existing team pattern, more consistency in both areas will return.

Well, well..........

It seems to me that IC generally has little interest in the cup competitions.

The line up picked and the rather tame finish, seems to bear that out....but maybe I am being a bit unfair and showing bitterness so soon after the final whistle.

Does show the difficulties of keeping good players when you are suddenly a small fish in a big league and fighting to become competitive. Weymouth have also lost several key players to better teams in the NL and leagues above.
Also highlights the problems of having a Norwich loanee as goalkeeper with no back up. If the season continues, Lynn have to now hope that Mair's head is not turned by events.

Surely, it must be that the other players and staff have not been tested....or not tested within the correct timeframes (?).
If no one has been in contact with Jones since the 22nd, that's now 20 days ago, so if the remaining staff have a negative test now, they must be clear to play...or am I missing something.......... don't see why the Alty game would be off

You do realise you are advocating replacing a "slippery nipster" with a "hooligan"  :laughcry: :laughcry:

Furthermore whilst McAuley is doing a solid job of defending, we could have avoided the need to defend, by attacking before the opposition :laughcry:

Transcript of the interview usually appears in EDP on line next day albeit a little cut about

They are really only mid table once everyone has played the same. .....but don't concede many and fight till the last.
I still think we can go there and get something.
Let's wait and see what "The Tactical Technician who doesn't believe in tactics" recommends... provided he is still not charging of course !

Please stop doing yourself down Dilly...keep offering your services f.o.c. for goodness sake.....why not say "for a small and reasonable fee"....you'll be added as an "advisor to management" in no time, with all this supposed extra cash coming into the NL :laughcry: :laughcry:
You should perhaps come up with a role title tho...how about "Tactical Technician" :laughcry:

Like you say KES...the whole things a farce.
Complete lockdown...unless: you're obviously a key worker or your'e a teacher or you're of school age or you work in a shop that sells food or work in a factory or drive a bus a taxi or you're a professional football player or just simply have lots of money....where you can spin the public a yarn and fly off to exotic places on "business" trips.....so....other than that complete lockdown... :dontknow: :dontknow:

Add to that the following that are allowed to be open :
Dentists, Estate Agents, anyone whose work involves repairs...be it to cars or buildings, Construction workers, garden centres, any professional working on a painful condition or mental health eg chiropractors, physios, chiropodists, acupuncturists, reflexologists, osteopaths, counsellors, etc, all banks and building societies etc etc
