General Discussion / Re: Future games
« on: August 23, 2021, 09:46:07 AM »
I don’t like complaining and I always try to make my posts thought provoking rather than insulting.
However…….
Yesterday was a mess.
No marketing of game (prior)
The stadium looks a **** hole.
Considering only 1500 home fans getting in was shambles.
Lack of bar staff was ridiculous even though staff tried best.
Lack of stewards cost when minor disturbance and loads of police drafted in.
PA system is broken.
No food at 7 sisters end.
Away fans having to climb barriers to avoid crush.
Gate at 7 sisters end only partially opened after game meaning fans had to squeeze out.
Price for single person probably not issue, however you notice the lack of family and kids?
On positive game was good in my opinion.
Now, our next home game is against another big boy. You would of thought the market machine would be in full swing taking on field positives to build up the crowd. Can’t say I seen anything!!!!
Mr cleave needs help!!
Either a competent team of employees or re evaluate and reach out and get a team of appreciated helpers and in turn engage with fans.

Can't say I disagree with much of this, one thing I would like to point out so the 'lack of stewards' people don't want to be a steward because of the way they are treated by the club told one thing by one person told another by someone else. Its a real kick in the teeth when outsiders come in and do the same job and are paid £45 to £60 a game when our own stewarding team gets nothing. We were told Saturday any disturbances were being dealt with by the police hence why there so many officers present. The clubs upside down and inside out currently and needs to be fixed fast. A lot of staff are getting fed up with it. Myself included.

Some ideas for the game and going forward
1/Kids for a quid when accompanied by an adult is a must
2/Any game advertised and promoted professionally
3/Large sign at both ends of the ground a week in advance of the next home game .
4/Paid stewards
5/An away section in the stand that is known and segregated correctly.
6/The Tennyson avenue end needs to be a fully away end for security but also so the away fans are not crushed in a corner.
7/Programmes can stay at 3.50 but have a 50/50 number printed free inside.
We are now full time and want to keep going forward but we will not accomplish this with 1200 home fans as its obviously unsustainable.

All good ideas, many (if not all) which wont be listened to. The biggest issue i found is having away fans in every section of the ground. Surely make the away end bigger or sort the system so away fans cant buy tickets for the home ( hard one i know). As for paid stewards, the ones in the blue (contracted stewards) are paid i believe in the region of £45 per match were as Kings lynn stewards are paid NIL.

Many positives to take away from the game and of course there is always things which can be improved upon. UTFL

With the food being a hot topic amongst the fans recently.

Just want to give people another option, while I know fans are keen to put as much money into the club.

The Crossings Fish and chip shop literally less than a 100 yards away from the ground are doing matchday specials starting with 2 sausage and a portion of chips for £4 50.

50p cheaper, better quality and more for your money.

B&G I would say not enough support is given to the stewarding team from those higher up. For example like mentioned above the person who was banned for 3 games for racism isn't enough and will never be enough. In my view because the people who cause the issues are paying to watch the team home and away those higher up will be a lot more lenient on them. Which isn't right. Everyone no matter their worth should all come under the same umbrella of punishment when inside the ground. Ultimately they will cost the club money in Fines.

I know a few stewards have left previously because they didn't agree with the way certain things were done and corners that were cut.

Coming in here to again defend the volunteer stewards. Some of the comments iv seem have been shocking and a lot of them have been quite frankly lies.

All stewards have at least a nvq level 2 in stewarding some have higher than that. All stewards are trained customer service, so if they got arsey with some fans then they probably had enough. Working for free for a club they love and get nothing but abuse from a section of fans. Please do mind my language but amongst the things said were kno*head, your just a d**khead etc etc. From minute one from entering the ground there were a select few that didn't care about the rules having known the rules (they were announced enough). They were all told politely by our own stewards. However having an outside events company working besides them who were a little heavy handed I can understand a little about the attitude of a couple of them.

At the end of the day, the rules are set by the authorities and have to be implemented by the club. Enough things of the Internet by the club, in programmes and signage was up so the excuse of we didn't know isn't really going to wash.

What happens if they don't abide by the rules today who knows but I'm sure we will find out.
