General Discussion / When is our next home game?
« on: August 27, 2021, 02:27:55 PM »
Is it a big game?
Why should I part with £21 to come and watch?
Just asking........ All seems a secret.

I doubt if Ian Culverhouse does sentiment!
He obviously rates Clunan. So do I. He sets the pace and links things together. Sometimes doing the stuff that goes unnoticed so others can go and play.

General Discussion / Re: Future games
« on: August 22, 2021, 10:05:20 PM »
I don’t like complaining and I always try to make my posts thought provoking rather than insulting.
However…….
Yesterday was a mess.
No marketing of game (prior)
The stadium looks a **** hole.
Considering only 1500 home fans getting in was shambles.
Lack of bar staff was ridiculous even though staff tried best.
Lack of stewards cost when minor disturbance and loads of police drafted in.
PA system is broken.
No food at 7 sisters end.
Away fans having to climb barriers to avoid crush.
Gate at 7 sisters end only partially opened after game meaning fans had to squeeze out.
Price for single person probably not issue, however you notice the lack of family and kids?
On positive game was good in my opinion.
Now, our next home game is against another big boy. You would of thought the market machine would be in full swing taking on field positives to build up the crowd. Can’t say I seen anything!!!!
Mr cleave needs help!!
Either a competent team of employees or re evaluate and reach out and get a team of appreciated helpers and in turn engage with fans.

Lynn supporters historically turn out for the "big games" especially with talk of a big away contingent.
Prior to these matches the work place is often buzzing with chit chat, even from the casual supporter who for once is looking forward to the game.
Its a big opponent, its first game of the season and there is the away following.

So what's the word on the street?

Big crowd or total apathy?

Really is a big surprise with the lack of promotion of our first game AND the bank holiday monday game.
Great opportunity to whip up some enthusiasm.
Nothing from any quarter. Rob Back, official Lynn, the chairman or players.
Why?
This could of outweighed the negative of the pricing policy, which is really having a negative impact with floating support.
We all want a big gate as it creates a good atmosphere, it creates cash for the club and dare I say it keeps future prices lower.

Add to this the postponement of friendly V Heacham.............. Is there something sinister going on?

See lack of information feeds negative conspiracy theories.

General Discussion / Re: Torquay Ticket Sales

I believe it was under estimated the number of concessions, particularly teens, that make up the normal attendance.
Kids don’t have disposable income to throw around. It’s ok saying they should of got a season ticket, however I would of guessed they like many would of worked out what they and parents could afford and value for money they thought they would get from a season ticket.
Be such an embarrassment if not a sell out and concessions who felt priced out are sitting at home.
This one game was never going to be the club’s saviour. Long term engagement with potential supporters is !

Be interesting to see if the Chairmans gamble of pushing prices up pays off for him.
Whilst we all get why - the pricing out of kids, families and pensioners seems a tad overboard.
If he sells out then crowds return when prices revert to normal, then well done. If they dont.........................

DRAINS ARE RUNNING WITH LOTS OF WATER COMING OFF THE PITCH,PROBLEM IS AS THE LAST 3 MONTHS IS THAT IT KEEPS RAINING, PITCH WAS VERTI-DRAINED 8 DAYS AGO,AND THERE HAS BEEN NO MACHINERY ON IT SINCE AS I WANTED TO KEEP THE HOLES OPEN AND LET THE GROUND BREATH. SO IDEALLY A COUPLE OF DAYS OF DRY WEATHER BETWEEN NOW AND SATURDAY AND WE WILL BE FINE ????? HOPE THAT ANSWERS SOME QUESTIONS.
Have we had a dry couple of days????????????
such a shame if this game is off

I just cant see this game being on. As much as we all want it to be on.
We've had so much rain.
The groundsman has done a great job but he is no miracle worker.
