The hospital end was a mess in the 80s. Stinging nettles  the lot. It was shrunk when the concrete fence was erected at the Tenny end and the walks terrace was re-tinned. Not sure of date but I guess later 80's

Anyway, this thread is titled Monday Monday........Slough

You know, I know, there was a good turn out...........
As said needs to go up another notch or two Monday
and it will
Lynn always attract a good mob of people when something to play for...

Alternative to not going to the walks on Monday is sitting in a traffic tailback to the coast....

A day for the towns folk, lunch and a drink in town then head to the walks.
A right family treat.

The atmosphere was pretty good v Weymouth. Attendance was good. Good to see some faces there.
Monday needs to go up another notch.

No excuse for non attendance. Bank holiday may be a family day, however why not bring the family? Kids under 11 free!! What a first game it could be for the other half and kids!!

And the club......
Get someone out there selling stuff. Scarves, shirts, hats. Better to sell off now than sit in stock all summer.
Lets have a sea of blue and gold.

Music better last night, shame it distorts! Pump it up with anthems. :scarf:

Need to really create an atmosphere Wednesday and hopefully Monday.
The walks used to be quit hostile now its a bit too nice.
The pre match music needs to be pumping.
Town called malice
Rock and roll star
I predict a riot

A show of colour. Scarves swirling above heads.

Then from the off need to get the n their players backs. Every tackle of theirs boo’d
Long hair over weight get them. Proper sledging.
Every Lynn attack tackle shot should be applauded and aclaimed.

All inside the law but every supporter should go for it.
Operation hostile

Just thinking.....

Assuming pitch costs £500k
Council pay half
= £250,000
Most assets are over 4 yrs (?)
So need to generate £62500 per year of pure profit after expenses to pay for the pitch. That's £1200 operating profit per week. Probably realistic.
You would also have a reduction in groundsman costs and other pitch maintenance.

Needs someone to look at all costs and savings, otherwise its guess work.

On the face of it 3g could be seen as a no brainer.
Our issue is that the council already has Lynnsport 3g pitches.
I don't know how many teams are using as part of leagues or for individual leisure hire. Is there a requirement in town for an additional facility?

What needs to be taken into consideration.....
If income is £1k a week, from that you need to deduct Staffing (bar and caretaker minimum would be 3 persons) assuming 60 hrs staffing per week at min wage that's approx. £700 a week with NI. Also would be added costs of electric for floodlights, plus heating and water. If I was funding would probably want more ROI than that.

Not saying the idea is wrong, just adding food for thought.

Back to the thread. Had to get that off my chest.

Probably worst kept secret that Ian would go. Its a shame but inevitable. Club unable to match his needs and expectations. From the set up to having a novice chairman.
Ian comes from the pro game. The last few weeks he has strategically planned his exit with little leaks of dissatisfaction. That's what the pro's do.
All I would say, Is "Ian, leave us with a good memory, complete the job you have been doing thus far. Three more games. Give us promotion. You can then leave with head held high"
I for one will follow his carer. A talented driven young manager.
Thanks and good luck
