Think you have to sack Culverhouse, and get someone else in if you want to compete at this level. Some of the signings this season, suggest Cleeve wants to be at this level, so he now needs to bite the bullet and fork out the compensation.

Said it last season, for the quality that's been returned for money spent, club should've kept the side that got up and only added 3-4 players.

Ok so we sack Culverhouse.  Then what ?  IC left last time and look what the Chairman brought to the club.  Hardly inspiring was it.  Luckily. Back and Fryatt steadied the ship and Back had the foresight to broker a deal to bring IC back.

Just sometimes we need to careful what we wish for.

That is the reality. Are we certain that there are quality coaches / managers out there viewing the current set up as an attractive proposition and career advancement....I think that to be highly unlikely.

I wish him well but just cannot understand why he was not given a decent chance to prove his worth at NL level. A self defeating decision, as what was there to lose?

Added to which, although it is unrealistic to develop a team of locals, i and the majority of supporters love to see a local boy succeed, rather then just badge kissing mercenaries.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!!

Why is it too late for Taylor to solve our goalscoring problem? Has it been officially confirmed that he has signed for Peterborough?

Can see that Mall, but currently I feel any money gained has to go into the pot for new players.
We lost Carey, but have we used the £75k for players ? I cant answer that, but we seem significantly weakened by his leaving....I was rather hoping we would sign a star player to replace him.... hasn't happened. What's the cost of dropping out of the NL versus what's the cost of getting someone in who can make a genuine and immediate difference, is I guess the question SC has to mull over.

Is that the confirmed fee for Carey or speculation? Thought we probably got more than that???

A disappointing crowd when maybe 1,000 more might have been reasonably expected to attend?

Why?

Some.elderly supporters still probably fear being in such close proximity with others over a couple of hours or so but perhaps the risk of getting caught up in hooligan activity at 'big games' is also a factor?

Just listened to Ian Culverhouse and his pre match interview.  One very unhappy man judging by his answers, body language and seemingly total apathy towards those interviewing him.

Comes across as a man who doesn’t want to be there.

How did others view it ?

Is anyone really surprised???

It surely beggars belief that match sponsorship for the Walsall game appears to have been something of an afterthought,? Or am i being unreasonable?

I thought the club had a new commercial supremo onboard?

People not just being "allowed", but actually being encouraged to air their views is the sign of a healthy club....... it's the way you build a large fan base with everyone feeling a part.

Just as a Church is not the building, but is the congregation, so a football club is not its ground, Chairman, Manager or players.......they all come and go, but it is the fans that remain.

If you take a position of responsibility in any walk of life you can expect to hear people's views....some will be positive, some negative. In order to be able to be effective in your role, you have to be able to deal with criticism in a positive way.

It's therefore very disappointing to hear what has happened re the West thread.....and IMO it would be healthy and positive to know "Who and why", because it's vital going forward that fans feel that their views are important to the hierarchy.

A community club?

Its a trait that many Lynn fans have illustrated over the years.....They will support in greater numbers if the team are successful, almost irrespective of the level they are playing at?

Is it right that David Hutchinson is the CEO and not Commercial Director.Does this  mean he is taking on the management of the club.

Was there a press release about this vitally important appointment? I am not a Twitter or regular Facebook user.

Fans could relate with the Jarv’s, Gash’s etc it all felt right.   Now we are at step one then players came in from here there and everywhere.  No link up or connection with the fans.   Maybe we need to give the transition a bit longer to see if there will be a bond.

These are exactly the thoughts I'm thinking.

I'm not saying the current crop are a bunch of mercenaries, but there doesn't seem to be many who will "fight for the shirt"

Aaron Jones, when he came on yesterday acknowledged the crowd immediately and played with passion - and I didn't see that from any of the others.

I'm not saying the players play to lose, but I do question the effort to win??

As Mallard says, we loved players like Gash, Jarvis, McCauley, Fryatt, Hendo, Street - even Lee Stevenson & Dan Quigley because we felt they loved playing for the club and would always give their all.
.
The current crop may gel, but they have to understand they are in for a scrap this season.

I hope they have the desire for it

Always nice to have a beer with Mr Quigley, that guy managed to turn extreme hate into admiration.

Where is he now??

Still no news ??

As per usual. I just can't understand why the Club does not want to engage with it's supporters more than it does.

 :dontknow:

Supporters....or customers??

How much would Jimmy cost in todays market, on the pitches he played on. Todays players play on bowling greens. RIP Jim, you were and are one of the greatest ever.

If Harry Kane is worth £150m....Jimmy 250 plus
