It is a huge drop Mall, but nothing is really  being done to up the core support in terms of fans feeling really connected.....and I believe the core support that would go on a cold wet day if Lynn were mid table and out of the Cups is....and has been for a good few years around 700......... probably actually 699 now that Rod has given up his hobby due to the pricing

I've been there in the past on many a cold and wet Saturday and Tuesday winter nights when gates were sometimes between 400 and 600.

Yes I can well understand that Mall. The M O at the moment seems to be if you have a successful team then that gets a reasonable crowd paying high admission fees. However, this only works if the club continues to be evermore successful IMO......if it doesn't achieve that then another and another investor are required to prop it up.

The alternative is something that is priced in a way that builds the crowd base and is not totally dependent on on field performance , so that for example it encourages families including grandchildren to come every week.

If the club are serious about "building" they surely need to find a middle ground.

I'm within the category that has stopped paying the inflated concessionary
admission price and i do believe there are more than a few long term supporters of a similar age who have either ceased attending games or who are now very selective in their choice of games they attend. Mr Cleeve does not appear to be concerned at this loss, who by definition are unlikely to be around in the medium / long term. His focus seems very much on attracting customers who will pay regardless and buy into his
opaque business model, with the end justifying the means.

His club (unfortunately) so his prerogative.

I mentioned a while ago on a different thread that the lure of fulltime football was the main attraction for Gold after failing with Fylde and Kidderminster and I don't blame him whatsoever.

Our concession match day seated price of £19 is higher than Barnet and York: currently the top two in the National League. Stephen Cleeve: a modern day Dick Turpin !

Pink, i don't have the relevant stats but he certainly played at this level. Jack had a great all round game and almost certainly could have played at least a couple of levels higher had he not lacked pace. But as always it is about opinions!

Local lads can work at this level. Jack Defty in his prime could definitely have played regularly. For those of a certain vintage i ask the question: who would you rather have leading the attack, Gold or Big Jack?!
