Overwhelmed by the amount of info coming from the club this week. When I have digested it all then I may travel down to Gloucester.....then again. By the way we drew 0-0 last Saturday.

Stop behaving like a supporter!!

Dilly - it is all about opinions and i don't completely disagree with your often stated views. if you have a squad of elite players they shouldn't require a great deal of coaching but at a lower level on a limited budget, surely it is more about getting the best out of the resource available, with man management to the fore. As a general rule of thumb, i do believe that over coaching has created an on field attitude of avoiding responsibility. Rose tinted glasses here perhaps but i can well recall when senior players would make on field decisions and were encouraged to do so, with managers only having significant input pre match and at half time. In fact Lynn once had a manager who always sat in the director's box, with a trainer and his trusty buket of water and sponge, pitch side... The good old days!!

I agree. The best managers / coaches, particularly where there are major budgetary constraints, have the ability to devise a system that best suits the squad. Round pegs in round holes etc

A young Lad from Lynn, that was prepared to play for his home team for no wages for a month. Apparently, partly in order to get some game time but also because he was fully aware what the financial picture was at Lynn.

If he wasn't going to get game time they should never have agreed to take him. It has cost him his own personal money to be with Lynn for the  time he was here.

He must be feeling so disillusioned with the whole episode.

B&G, I had heard a similar rumour re Powell's wages which, if true, does make how he was treated seem even worse.

If that is so, it is both embarrassing and shameful.

Played for Peterborough U21's against Bristol City last Saturday. Presumably loan period has finished, not given much game time at Lynn to impress.
We are certainly lacking in pace across back line and as the only fit left back he should have been given a chance but it seems AL would rather play a centre back in this position instead.

I feel sorry for him. What a complete waste of time that was and I'd be surprised if Peterborough are best pleased?

Rod, I couldn't agree more.  Unfortunately that is now the 2nd Peterborough loanee who has come to us and got next to no game time (can't remember the name of the young lad who came in IC's tenure) so it looks a bit like a 'club' thing rather than the manager, although in both cases you do wonder who arranged the loans?  Whilst Powell didn't get much time on the pitch, to me he did at least look like he had a bit of positional sense as a left back which is more than can be said for anyone else apart from Isaacson who has lined up there this season, although I am not sure I agree with Normski's thoughts that he added much pace.

Tony, i have thought for quite a while that local players are not valued as highly as those that come from outside the area. Why? I have no idea, as this would seem to be wholly illogical? The primary recent example being Joe Taylor, who i believe suffered from 'local boy syndrome'? Perhaps, i have been spoilt over the years, being able to watch such as the Defty brothers and many more, who added value to the club both on and off the pitch. They metaphorically 'kissed the badge' because it really meant something to them!

Naturally there was no talk of progressing into the Football League at Dereham.  And not much development of young players needed either, as they just need to attract the better youngsters from the area.  We neednít have the same plans as Dereham as we need much higher ambitions - or did have at one time.  Unfortunately our ground and professional organisation off-field has made no progress since the 50s, despite the recent success of the Steven Cleeve years.  He expected the club to grow with and after the early successes of his tenure, but it hasnít, and I fear, probably never will.

Sustainable progressive growth needs to be underpinned by a a solid foundation and infrastructure.

AL ppg has averaged under 1 during his tenure.  That gets you relegated.  I wonder what he is basing his on idea on that he can keep us up.m, delusion?

Delusion has been widespread in and around our club for quite some time.
Don't forget the stupidity.

They usually go 'hand in hand'?

I wish them well. Sounds as if they are attempting to create something that really engages with and involves the community, to their mutual advantage: rather than it being all 'one way traffic'?!

It would be good to hear something from Joe about his plan(s). I wonder: could he also be the anonymous main stand sponsor??

Although we are not alone with gates declining why have they declined by such a big amount?25% reduction on last season. That can't just be down to the fans not liking the style of football (term used very loosely) as other clubs that are in similar form to us aren't struggling with attendence anywhere near as much.
One example is our old mate Setch.Corby are having a horrendous time but their gates are only down 6%. Today they still had  643 there and remember they are only at step 4. 643 at step 4, 847 at step 2. Ridiculous. And they haven't  got the benefit of a Singapore businessman putting money in.
People are fed up with the whole package at Lynn from the Chairman down. It's not just the poor results and the abysmal football that's keeping them away.
They'll all wake up again once this nightmare is over.

I'll second that!

Just listened to the manager's post match interview. All about, spirit, hard work and making life difficult for the opposition. Creativity and scoring goals? Stephens unavailability the primary problem???

Sinking money into the Club. Easy come easy go.
It's not as if any wealth came from digging ditches.

But some of it may have come from some who were once 'digging ditches'?
