General Discussion / Managers

I'm sure it's on here somewhere, but does anyone have stats for Managers.

Don't know how many games IC has had over his two tenures, but his win rate must be up there.   Setch had a great win rate, but we did start from a very low base and that's not a slant at Setch, but Peterborough Northern Star FC away on a Tuesday night is a far cry from AFC Telford yesterday.

And it's Sunday,  makes good reading.

General Discussion / Re: QUIZ NIGHT AT THE WALKS
« on: June 29, 2019, 11:01:10 AM »
The Quiz night organised by the Blue & Gold Trust on Friday the 28th of June at the Football Stadium was a great success.
A big thankyou to the 47 people who participated in the quiz and to those who supported the raffle and who made donations to the Ground Development Fund (GDF) on the night. The event raised a total of £431:50 for the GDF.
A special thanks to Barrett Batchelor Mortgage Services and ARC Fabrications (King's Lynn) for sponsoring the event.
Thanks also to Richard Simper for preparing the tables etc, and to Zoe for serving behind the bar. Thanks also to those who donated raffle prizes.
Anyone wishing to donate to the GDF can do so via PAYPAL by clicking on the thermometer on the home page and pressing the donate button.

Best post on this forum in years.

Top effort, small steps and all that.

Whereís the solar installation cost coming from?  Maybe the installer could do it free of charge by way of sponsorship!!  Surely a local firm in this field would have the contacts to do this.  Think we need the additional income now, before the start of the season, not spread over the next 40 years.  As for recycling facilities, I suppose it could go on the car park at Tennyson Road end, itís a dump now so the addition of a few recycling containers on there wouldnít matter.

If you look at the solar trade association website, you'll find a few local Installers.

Good luck.

Yes the roof is structurally sound for solar.
Yes plenty of other clubs have solar roofs.
Permission is required, both from the grid and legal owner of stadium.

Canít believe what Iím hearing;  who the hell is going to a game of football with a load of tin cans!!!!  In any event, the scrap value is very small.  Any more hair-brain schemes?   All this to avoid paying a reasonable admission price.  As said by others, the admission price will have to rise by a small amount of a fiver or so, any other fund raising schemes will be in addition to this, not in place of it.  Iím afraid it wonít be a voluntary contribution as everyone will need to pay the going rate so we can professionally finance the club rather than some airy fairy scheme that might or might not raise a few pounds which in the scale of finance required will, believe me,  be insignificant.

Notice you didn't think solar panels was a harebrained scheme? Okay so scrap cans might not be a good idea, but it helped Blue Peter build a hospital!! Don't notice many suggestions from elsewhere? What would you suggest as a way to raise funds, apart from putting the admission up by a fiver? Nothing from anyone!!  :banghead; :banghead; :banghead;

around £30k of solar would get rid of the clubs daytime energy bills, for around the next 40yrs, maybe more. Can do 24/7 with a big enough battery system on top of it.

Collections banks are not only a great little income generator, they show environmental credentials and a little bit of community care.  What's not to like?

Rumour's so far suggest at least 3 departures including one high profile player.

High profile - Clunan??

The only other high profile player we may lose could be FBT, if he moves to a higher level.

Why would any of them want to move?  They'll ALL be playing at a higher level next season.

'The issue was clearly the lack of a preliminary inspection, but two wrongs donít make a right and the abuse received from Alvechurch fans and officials (towards our management team, stewards, myself and those in the club shop and cafe) was totally uncalled for. '

It's an old school non league thing,  if a game is called off, then a 15 minute session on the pitch justifies the wages.  Sometimes, you'll see the subs doing bit after a game, for the same reason.  Not many non league coaches do this nowadays,  but may explain why they were pretty ****ed off at being told to leave the pitch.  Especially as the Chairman himself endorsed, it looking at his tweets......

"why all the sudden concern for an away side."

It's what non league fans do.

It would have been perfect if part of the punishment was for him to be Shippy's bitch for a few months. Boot cleaning, kit washing etc.
