It will still be with us until everyone has had the vacations it’s beyond me why people won’t have the injections, don’t they realise they are not only putting their lives at risk but everyone else’s

Looking at Europe, I do fear that we could get hit hard again this winter.   :dontknow:

Looking at Europe is a distraction from looking at the UK.

General Discussion / Re: Next two home matches.

Thread is entitled, next two home matches.

So here goes,

Offer a two ticket deal on both games,  if two purchased at the same time, offer a small discount.  Show appreciation to your customers.

Free entry for a couple of local league football teams, all U12's and accompanied, in club kit.  Inspire kids to want to play at the Walks

Have a corner of the pitch where schools could have a penalty shoot out,  some face painting.  I'm one for flags as well,  loud, bright and lot of them,  (good newspaper space filers)

If the sub goalie and a fringe player gets involved then it all adds to the hero worship, cheery flag waving, buzzing atmosphere that is so desperately lacking by all accounts.

You did ask.....................

Peter Crouch is getting involved at Dulwich Hamlet,  Rio Ferdinand has had involvement through very close association for many years.

Neither have been given the opportunity to turn their celebrity into a media circus. They're both just part of the club.  As every supporter is.  And if someone has something to contribute, they can.

Trust run club. Very level headed.

« on: November 04, 2021, 02:21:33 PM »
Whilst i don't attend,  but i do tend to use a lot of social media and share a great deal of content via twitter etc  ( i have a community account  @kingslynnlive)  I was genuinely surprised that there was zero content from the club last night and we had to rely on the excellent twitter feed from Northampton.

This was the FA Cup.

Would be nice if a least one person involved in each of the squads had access to the twitter feed instead of reply on one or two people.  It doesn't take much to update with a tweet, 3 or 4 times each half... Like other clubs do.

The ladies team do a  fair job, and on the whole,  the club is active for the first team and does a decent job of it.  But last night was big night for the Club,   and it went totally un-noticed to many.

I would like to think the attendance would be a lot more than 1100 tomorrow, particularly given the weather forecast.

I can't see The Moors bringing many more than 100, so I just added that to the 1000 regular, all weather, Lynn supporters.

 :scarf:

I had a pint with a bloke at Wenns on Thursday evening who had come for the weekend. Take in all the sights and football on Saturday.  I imagine the weather will encourage a few.   With 4 points from 6 and the ticket prices reduced,  you should see a fair few this afternoon... great weather for it.

It's a good move. The right thing to do.

Watch what happens when you start behaving like a decent club.

Here is done of what Caney said in YLP

Ticket prices

You can dress it up however you want. The rot set in as soon as it was confirmed the Linnets’ season ticket prices were going to be the most expensive in the top-tier of non-League football this term.

It hasn’t got any better with seating prices coming in at £26 and £23 for adults, £21 for concessions and £11 for those aged 16 and under. It’s not family friendly. Is it any wonder people are having to pick and choose their games?

Matchday experience

Saturday’s match felt like I was attending a pre-season friendly – no atmosphere, a soulless bar with giant half-time queues and overpriced food that you had to walk through the away section to buy. Attending a matchday is about much more than the football and right now being at The Walks leaves you feeling short changed.

The chairman

Stephen Cleeve is entitled to his opinion. The problem is when you’re freely giving yours out, you have to accept people will disagree with you or potentially grow to dislike you.

There’s a way to communicate with, and talk about, fans and as someone who works in PR, Lynn’s chairman needs a crash course in how not to alienate people through his choice of words.

I stopped going after I turned up with £90 worth of wins for the 12th man scheme, then named in the programme the very next match as someone who wants the club to fail. He named Setch and Gavin Caney as well.

Not been back since.

It pains me to watch what's happening, really it does.

I still keep up to date through newspapers, this forum and social media,  but Cleeve wont be getting a penny off of me until I read a full, public apology.

Been waiting 4 years now.

It's good to talk,

Maybe the programme sellers, gate stewards and others around the ground can mention it,  soon get the grapevine going.

Focus on that one simple thing,  the BT Sports ppl will pick up on it if the club do their bit,

Job's a good 'un.

« on: September 11, 2021, 10:13:34 AM »
I'm assuming someone at the club will be mentioning the 856 foundation on camera today?

Yesterday was suicide prevention day. (according to twitter)  and i see no better place than a football ground to highlight this cause that is so personal to so many of us.

Lee was my friend as well.  From breakfast club at BNI, to a pint in the Nap many a year ago and a few away days when i first moved up here. Like you,  I found friendship on the terraces at The Walks.  Lee was one of the blokes in the group i made friends with when i first started going to watch King's Lynn. They turned out to be collectively called the 856, yes I had to ask.........

For many of you, it was for much longer and your friendships will be much stronger, but what i do know is that today could be an extremely fitting tribute to Lee and show the club and therefore the Town in an extremely good light.

The town has shown it's love for him in it's outpouring of grief when we lost him,  today, the football family can show the football world not just what Lee meant to us, but also that's it is ok to be not ok. And it is,  good to talk.

It is good to talk and talking with mates at football has saved many a soul over the generations.  It's where we bond, we come together and get behind our team. We can forget our worries and let it all out for an hour or two.

I'm not sure what would look like at The Walks today,  it could come in the form of banners at pitchside and a few words from the chairman in one of the televised snippets,  it could at 8 minutes and 56 seconds,  applause rings out throughout the ground....... It may come as a chant, in UNISON,  all I know is that today is an opportunity to honour a friend and highlight a bloody good cause and the 856 foundation that has been launched in lee's memory.

Absolutely brilliant news!

Woke up this morning to find that the petition has reached the 10,000 signature mark.

Nice work people,

The map of the signatories reflects just that. Higher density in West Norfolk and fades out as you get further away.

Similar to the fan base really!

10,000 is where we'll be.

Even the eternal optimist in me wouldn't dare to suggest 100,000

I think for a town of 40,000 to get 1/4 of the population to sign is a good job done.

It keeps the campaign in the public eye and galvanizes people to focus on something we all care for.
