Looking at the whole list, I can only hope we are good enough to keep them under pressure at their end., and being decidedly sharp attacking our chances.  Don’t want to spend too long at scrapping to keep them out !

I’m intrigued that Walks in the Sunshine doesn’t like the look of a shirt on him, but he’s ok with the shorts !  I would have more concern the other way round !!...... (not being personal, Walks, just seeing the funny side !).

Thanks Mark, and agree with Mallard that the loss of old grounds is sad to see.  Boston United built their stadium to league level and surely it will be a loss....

Impressed by the Trust’s efforts on the GDF/Turnstiles front, but always fascinated by the lack of progress we have made over the decades.  How, for example, have Stamford funded the very decent covered terrace they have behind one of their goals ?.....  equally how is their ground choc-a-bloc with advertising signs all around the ground ?....both as demonstrated on the KLTV video of the first friendly game.   Maybe the two are linked ?  Hopefully our attendances will give us a real boost to finances in this new division that we have deservedly reached.  BRING A FRIEND, OR TWO/ THREE !....  Our most difficult but best chance of real progress for donkey’s years awaits !!

Doesn’t matter really about formations....  - when we have the ball, flood forward....  when they have it, get back (811  ! )....

Just been on the non-league site and am slightly concerned thT virtually all of our approaching opponents are.testing their calibre against League clubs.  I hope that doesn’t show they are more ambitious than us - in their recruitment, perhaps....  And how is our turnstile improvement going - haven’t seen a mention ....

Some of our coming opponents playing League clubs in pre-season.  We should expand from our usual Norwich City and Peterborough level.  It’s a new mindset needs in this league....

I so agree with Uncle Tupelo - always seems daft describing ourselves for years as Blue and Gold, when there was no Gold !

Tend to agree with KES80 that some teams are likely to have us penned in and under the cosh, and that a utility player could help in that situation. However my main concern is that the reason those teams will hem us in is because they will have the attacking players to do it.  I think the best form of defence is attack, and I just hope we are good enough going forward to pen the opponents back in their half rather than risk keeping them out at our end.  Fingers crossed....

That comes from possession gained from having 9 or 10 players behind the ball.  People (what they call) “just sitting” and looking out for someone to tackle will be latgelyredundant, because good opponents will simply pass around them.  Keep the ball in their half !

We HAve to beware this tendency to think we need tough tackling defensive midfielders, or “holding players” ....  They’re going to have slick attacking midfielders - we’re going to make sure we have them too.....

Walls; Proverbs, Baker; Williamson, Bone, Wright; Bacon, Edwards, Donovan, King, Partridge.  Chilleystone too on a regular basis..  FA Cup 1st round often, in the days when we had a proper terrace at the Hospital End !.....
