General Discussion / Re: Match report v St Neots

Well played Lynn. They were a goal down Saturday against the run of play but didn't let their heads drop and ended up with a decisive win.
It has been said that it can be harder to play against 10 men than 11, and Lynn were able to put Snots to the sword (and do it without Clunans penalties).
This team is definitely something special  at the moment, long may it continue.

Me and the boy are looking forward to the game tomorrow, its been a while I think the last one was Chesham.
What are people's feelings on Clunan absence? Mine are that he will be missed but he can now recharge his batteries.

Because he's not good enough. Not clinical, spends far too long moaning at the ref and is offside a lot of the time.

That's just me being honest!

I have to agree with this, especially about running offside.

We have looked better than we did in the first half in which the lads worked hard but didn't seem as mobile as usual and maybe could have used Blake-Tracy more who seemed to spend time in space waiting for the ball. But this squad is well drilled, it has quality and options, you can't help but have faith in the manager and made a potentially tricky match seem like a relatively easy 2-0 win.
Roll on Saturday indeed.

A brilliant first first half and a solid second. The way they finished the first goal showed how sharp they are physically and mentally, glad Hawks got the second as it was well deserved. I think we was helped by the fact that Tilverton did not get off the coach until 2.15 pm. Tip-top.

Shambles shambles shambles shambles shambles shambles shambles shambles....not the football but the set up at the bar. I was at work at six this morning and looked forward to a couple of beers with the footie. When I finished I was in the linnets lounge about 20 minutes before kick off. By the time I got served it was 10 minutes into the game and the lager was off and then they shut the bar in the second half. Madness. If we are meant to have confidence in the business plan for this club then get the basics right. As for the footie it was obvious Frome were not interested in a game.

If we can make it four from four then we will be in dreamland. So far Frome have lost two home games but have won on the road and now that the season is in full swing they should be a big test. Can anyone say anymore about what we should expect from them, I seem to recall them being a big strong team who may try and knock us off the ball.

General Discussion / Re: Warburton departs
« on: August 22, 2017, 08:46:24 AM »
I liked Warburton from the start, he had a bit of bite and liked to run at the opposition with the ball. 18 months ago he was potentially one of our better players but this squad is so strong at the minute he was probably surplus. Good luck boy. :thanks:

Agree with this completely and I am surprised not to see more post match posts on here saying what a fantastic start to the season. Well done to the travelling support again, respect.

Kieron Shipp must be disappointed as he seemed to be progressing into a first team player. He will no doubt get some opportunity during the season though.

Any specific insights into the performances last night? And fitness levels.
I like the way the manager operates from the dugout. When he is vocal it seems to always have a direction and purpose. I hope the season proves that he has the squad fitter and well drilled. On the fitness I did think that Leon Mettam was blowing bubbles after 20 minutes, and Dylan Edge had very little spring in his legs for a young one. Kieran Shipp is looking physically stronger and has the confidence to mess with the big boys. Onwards and upwards.

The Facebook page is showing the red away kit prepared for tonight. Is there going to be another shirt shambles like last season when we were well into the season before the first kit was launched. That aside I am looking forward to tonight and the season.
