General Discussion / Re: Club Statement

Does this mean the first team canít train together now for X number of days? It canít help the preperation in readiness for the opening day.

I guess this is the way things will be for sometime to come.
Sadly this could be the Ďnew normí build up to games and then the 11 hour postponed , could even be the case teams have already traveled to away games .. obviously safety 1st but from a football fans view gutting to think the biggest season ever and we possibly canít be a part of it or for the players a mix of game , self isolate, game , etc could hamper team spirit and preparation...

Boohoo perhaps if half of you lot wasnít so negative all the time you might of managed to got in ... few people whoís done an amazing amount of time/work  over the summer watched the game , even if youíd been invited youíd find something to whinge about ... the club gave us a livestream so take that positive but Iím more worried you seem to be concentrating on whos watching than watching the team ... couldnít of been much of a game then !!
For once peeps get a life

Iíll be happy to stay in the league and set ourselves up for many a season in NL  , think though mid table and a few top results going our way ... my only concern is a stop start season and then a fixture pile up wether that could stop our rhythm like last season
Canít wait for it to begin  :scarf: :scarf:

Free  to view for season ticket holders

That's good to hear (and as it should be).  :scarf:
Nice idea  , as I thought ST holders  was to get into friendlies free or reduced
£5 ainít to bad would cost me that in fuel

Great signing.  Have to disagree with the idea that competition for places, if it involves too many players, it is not ďalways a good thing for everyoneĒ.  Players often donít produce their best until they feel they are regulars, and I worry that the squad may become a little top heavy, with the unfortunate possibility of our losing good players.  Whoever left would be a good player, because we donít have any who are not.  Again, great signing..and well done to all concerned in making it.
With us being part time think we do need the competition as last season at times was thread bare .. try picking your fav 11 then see whoís left out .. all Iíd say whoíd be a manager !!!  Canít see Hawkins , Sam getting much game time ...

Call me naive etc but I see the good in everything our club is trying to do to take it forward etc
But as a season ticket holder and non drinker I canít see  why joining would benefit me  , I know itís hard to see forward regarding Covid etc but other perks could of been discounted away travel or  off a meal before a game , or off any events the club may hold ... shame as it potentially can be a good idea

Just like to add my opinion on the matter,

Id go as far to say 80 - 90% of the behind the scene staff, St john's and the stewarding team are volunteers. Many of them put more hours in for free, that's right completely free, than many people actually work in a week. I avoid this forum for many reasons however one of the main ones is due to the constant drivel a few people speak. Constant moaning and whinging, the club cant do right from wrong. If people supported the club as much as they moan then it would be a miracle.

With you on that boys but.  Take Halifax as an example if West Yorks is in temporary lock down how can home games be played with even a restricted gate?  Then how can a team from a lockdown area travel elsewhere to fulfill a fixture.

*. Not sure if Halifax is in the area that is on restrictions, just using it as a Ďwhat ifí
agree mallard , this season I can see either cut short or stop start throughout as like you say
ĎHalifaxí lock down means poss 3-4 games pp and then how do they then fit them in an already busy schedule ??  Just hope we have a good start can see ppg deciding  next seasons outcome .... 🤞 hope Iím wrong

The simple thing to do would be to have ban on away supporters which would stop the spread of the Virus.
Or allow x amount to travel buy tickets prior  ( own arrangements made to travel )
Yes I see where youíre coming from but it seems football is being treated differently.... go to any beach today theyíll be holiday makers there , cinemas opened , other events going ahead , and as someone mentioned ( saw for myself ) the car boot at knights hill .... that was  a breading ground last week packed out  !!!

Donít understand that one, Bluboy.  We have maybe a couple of hundred villages in our catchment area, (thatís a guess - Iíll have a lockdown count-up !).  Plus the beauty of the area is that there are no other pro-clubs to compete with, except for roughly 40 miles in any direction.  What a chance we have to ďpull Ďem inĒ....I think we have too many Linnets who would just as soon be a big fish in a tiny pool, lording it over poorly supported small clubs and feeling proud of our gates of 500 as be in the excellent position we are now at......  We should be able to do it - those people would be attracted, because, in their perception, they have never had the incentive to come to The Walks.
Couple hundred villages ?? What Iím saying is I drive from lynn to fakenham and no really big populated villages ... and in those villages may have a village footy side on a Saturday, not everyone likes football, or may have Norwich season tickets etc etc also people donít realise the quality of non league footy  at the walks , think Iím 1 of a handful who travel from fakenham way and when I say I watch lynn not many understand why !!  I agree with mallard I really do think 1400-1600 is what loyalty we have where did the extra 2000 go who came to the York game ... if that game couldnít pull more in then I donít know what will ....

You make the place attractive to the thousands of people in this excellent catchment area who enjoy football but have always thought of KLTFC as being too small time, with an undeveloped ground.  That means improving the ground and enthusing the villages.  If we get televised our neat but undeveloped terraces wonít pull in those potential new customers .
I agree but with development comes cost hard , one as do we establish NL status for 2/3 seasons then dev or get it done now ,
Yes lynn could be good catchment area but I find it hard also as we donít have substantial villages in close proximity to pull them in  etc hopefully get off to a good start and  turn a few heads  :scarf:

No offence to contributors on this forum as they all have the stability and progress of the club at heart.  However, I donít believe that schemes such as cigarette-style cards of the players, photo-ops, etc., would appeal to the wider area of people that we should now be able to interest and attract.  SC has run this club better than any other Chairman, and in a way that a fan-rum club would never be able to better.  We should now be able to attract people who in the past would never have thought of coming to a game, and that is where our attentions should be aimed.  We therefore need reps for all the villages to round up and enthuse new supporters, and THAT is where our efforts should be made to help finance the club.  We must think bigger.....

We are already a fan run club as the bulk of the money taken to run the club is taken from the fans! We have failed over the last few seasons to attract a major sponsor, who will be our sponsor this season, will we attract an actual sponsor or a sponsor that is owner owned? I brought a football club, but actually I  didn't,the fans did!
Listen to his latest pod cast  , your answers on there regarding sponsorship....
Letís be honest isnít every football club run by fans in non league hence no fans no games in the future  but Sc has put in plenty off ££ himself  and look where we are and the journey weíre on .. just need  to embrace the two together ,

Well, just listened to the podcast that Cleeve was interviewed on.This one has got to be the most hilarious thing Iíve heard in years.
And the interviewers were falling for it hook line and sinker which made it even more hilarious.
They really should do their research before they start the interviews!
I have to say that I was expecting to hear something on social distancing and why Footballers should be exempt from the rules, but sadly no mention of that particular subject.
