General Discussion / Re: Stephen Cleeve - Are You a fan Yes/No

Gap is now 13 points plus goal difference.  Maidenhead won today.

I wonder at what point SC starts preparing the club  for next season.  Or has it already started?

On what we have seen so far, will TW be the right man to lead us?
Agree  5 wins just to get out of the zone we’re looking at 10 wins out of 22 games …
Yes we’re have a more attacking attitude to our games but I look at our squad with loan players and high earners i wonder how much of a clearance we need and tbh who would you keep ??? Coleman, clunan , 2x Jones , Ross , Kyle , Barrett, for me perhaps 1or2more but can’t remember if they’re here on loan or not 🙄 as for TW I’ll save my judgment until may but so far 7/10

The owners dream, is not necessarily the locals dream  Please discuss.

It's certainly not mine. Never was.
Isn’t it everyone’s dream to see your team playing at a high level , personally covid has put the  dampner’s on progress etc would just of been nice to consolidate a place before dreaming even bigger  … interesting times between now and first game of next season to come !!  NLS would be my starting point , as much as I believe in the great escape think my tyres getting a slow puncture  :dirtbike:

For me I like the guy and has given us some great highlights over his reign.. I do feel for him since covid hit he’s had to make tough decisions and only time will tell wether right or wrong ones , had not the pandemic happened I feel our support and approach would of been so different and think our crowds would’ve not been so affected. However…. He’s trying to get things right off the pitch but he really did need to get us involved more and more engaging with the fans so much could’ve been done to help with many a good idea he do have a self destruct button for s/media but what he don’t realise the flack it gives us /club … only time will tell just hope his past doesn’t haunt us .

He’s a useful player that’s for sure but you are he’s not a Striker but he will add a bit of quality
Agree he’ll add that bit of quality to set up our non scoring frontline , yes I’m pleased he’s back but surely it’s as obvious as boris didn’t realise he was breaking the rules ….all season we’ve been crying out for a forward we get excited that gold is playing better 15 games to late imo and all for Linton running there’s no end product ….. WE NEED A FORWARD   :banghead;

Gordon, how much will SC have to put in January to make up any shortfall ?  The Directors loan section of the accounts will make interesting reading come the end of the season.   Then what ?
You’ll be getting your boots out for a game …  :laughcry:
If the worse happen ( relegation best of the worst ) wonder how it works with contracts and going back part time … a lot riding on the next 4 months…

Same old, same old. Concentrate on the league. How many league games have we actually won since february 2020? You won't need an abacus to count them. Concentrate on the league, that's a sick joke.
Went out to the eventual winners last season from a much lower league. Just think of the monies that are available to actually win a game in the Trophy and progress. Obviously we don't need the money!!!!
I would also say that the crowd at Tonbridge was higher than if we had played the tie here at the Walks!

I bet Steve was frothing at the mouth that £5k would of been handy getting through .. I’m still positive we’ll make a fight of it tbh it’s out of us , Weymouth, Maidenhead poss Wealdstone, Friday is a Big match as is next Tuesday , nothing less that 4 pts I say we need  anything less than I do fear our crowds dwindling … as in other threads mentioning a striker  we’re so desperate now .. nothing against Linton/gold but 2in 20 isn’t exactly prolific … wonder if Defoe fancy coming to keep his eye in

Someone has to say it and much as it pains me I think it is time everybody got behind the team, like Mr Cleeve or not he runs the club,if he pulls the plug we are gone again! Most of the games now until the end of the season are B games with entry on a par with many in this league. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
100%  behind that … my glass always half full and believe we can see the ‘ great escape ‘ a fit full return to our injured will be  like major signings for Tommy
So c’mon everyone all aboard  :bus: and I can see our Steve clearing the barb wire barricade on his triumph  :dirtbike:

General Discussion / Re: I want to buy the club
« on: January 11, 2022, 11:49:01 PM »

Nobody will be buy the club as arguably the club has a negative value.  Few assets with significant debt.  Not only does it have a negative value, if this turns into a supporter owned club, the supporters will have to put in significant cash on a week to week basis to keep the club afloat.  So whether you like the Chairman or not, he's keeping the club afloat and it would be hitting his bank account.  So you can wish the Chairman goes, but be careful what you wish for.

However, it would be interesting to see if enough fans stumped up the cash to make a serious bid.  You could try to raise the money, set up a GoFundMe but I doubt you were be able to raise enough money to pay off even a couple of percent of what people on this forum claim the debt the club has.  Whilst everyone is an expert on how the club should be run, few will put their money where their mouth is.

Makes sense that one.  Bazza big connection and we know IC’s capabilities.  It  Might encourage a few Lynn fans to pop along, when Lynn are away.

Looks a real good match that one.

I know of Lynn fans who live that side of the river who have been going to Boston games so far this season.
Big difference in the price was one reason.

No … nothing against setch  at all , read his posts on fb and there’s no way he’d want that
But also can’t we ever move forward let’s start a new era not keep harping on about ex players ,managers
No doubt all great servants for the club but let’s look forward.

Eadie really !!

Like to think someone with a bit of calibre to their name …
Look at Norwich how couple results can change we’re not down yet !! 20+ games to play

Money!

There could well be even less to throw around now, depending on what sort of package IC walked away with.  :dontknow:
Well I know he didn’t get what he wanted saw him making a quick getaway on the ride on mower  ,with all his desk stuff tucked under his arm
