General Discussion / Re: Widdrington Resigns
« on: April 02, 2023, 08:48:22 AM »
Mallard, its SC's club and business if he wants to interfere it's up to him, sometimes he may well be out of order ,but at the end of the day TW was his employee. Yes if you don't like it you can leave, as TW has, but there is a way of doing it. If you cant take criticism that's tough because at sometime in your working life that will happen. To act in such an unprofessional way , someone who always spouted he did everything professionally , is a joke

I'm sure Tommy's first quote will be to blame the Chairman and possibly the fans to deflect the brown stuff from himself. That's  the last 2 manager that have sh*t on the fans and club on the way out , at least this one hasn't orchestrated a pay off. Didn't have the balls to see the season out and bottled it by resigning at an away game. If Theo stays for the rest of the season I hope the fans respect him for not being a snake like TW. The new manager has to be someone fresh its no good talking about previous managers , they're history if they were the right people they'd still be here, tough job ahead depending where we are, p/time , full time, if we go p/time probably 80% of the squad will go. Lots of questions to be answered Keep the Faith UTL

A Well Wisher, as some of our supporters see themselves as "customers" , if you go into Tesco , you pay your money but are not happy with what was on display or the staff .....do you seek out the manager and verbally abuse him in public?
No, you get in your car and moan about it all the way home.
So why is it acceptable to verbally abuse the manager and staff at Football? Is it because you're big in front of your mates, half tanked up or because the wife isn't there and you can speak your mind?
Just the same as you can with Tesco, if you dont like whats on offer go elsewhere! (other Supermarkets are available)

unusual Dilly for you to complain about team selection. Perhaps we are going 3-5-2?

Great turnaround by Gold, TW seems to have great man management. For Gold 20+ goals is achievable, also considering he hasn't  started  every game, missed games through injury excellent return plus his defensive duties   .  The "legend" , for some , Marriott only has 8!

Fantastic result great fightback well done to TW, his staff, players and supporters who made the long trip. I've always thought 4 out of 6 points against Fylde was possible, therefore eliminating their game in hand. Part one complete 3 points at home see's that sorted.

i find it strange that some yet again find it necessary to question a man, TW , and his backroom staffs tactics when we are top of the league 19 games to go, 11 of which are at home.
is the answer to go gun ho all out attack , just like Keegans entertainers, and end up with sod all? As TW says when you walk out onto the pitch you have one point in your pocket. I'm all for winning but at what cost how many of the points gained away would have been lost with more attacking line ups? Also have to agree more may have been gained but is it not better to be cautious?
If Tommy has got it so wrong what advice does everyone have for the Darlington manager 28 points from a possible 48 at home.
Keep Calm and Carry On come the end of April we will all be smiling

Totally agree Dilly,
Second in the league
Games in hand on third and fourth
best goal difference in the league
4 defeats all season
none at home
Absolutely disgraceful Tommy should hold his head in shame
Just remember where we were last year at this time , there are still 20+ games to go.
if you want to question selections take a look at HMS Titanic in Boston

Well at least Bostons pitch is not to blame  :laughcry:
IC did some great things for the club. but orchestrating his departure is not one of his greatest  IMO

IMO, he stitched up the Chairman, the club and the fans. He allowed Joe to go,despite the chairman's opinion see twitter yesterday, he put us in a position where relegation was almost certain, he brought in players prior to leaving whom he knew weren't good enough. then he walked into the office to negotiate his cheque and s%it on our doorstep on the way out. I wonder how he feels about Karma today?
