General Discussion / The playoffs

I take it if we come second we get home venue for the semi and final ? The national league website is unclear on the venues of the final for North and southern leagues, whilst the nation league final is being played at a neutral League ground.

General Discussion / Away to Darlington - Coach ?
« on: March 29, 2023, 08:41:23 PM »

Does any one know if the club are going to put on a coach for the final away game v Darlington ? there was a suggestion made by the manager away few weeks back in on of his interviews/ramblings.  Im sure it would get takers as it will be crucial if we are secure top position or second place.

The attendance was only 1500 on Saturday because we ;et in 500 kids in free, who most where playing on their phones rather than watching the game. Reduce the tickets to £10 and see if more adults come, I very much doubt it, the brand of football is so dire at the moment, only us diehards turn up.

We don't have the players like Marriot, Gash, Burrows who played and entertained us, IC didn't end well, but for two years we had a team who played to the crowd, we will never get 4000 crowd v Flyde when we had that v York. I would hope we get 1000 or more, but at the prices we charge there is no chance. It cost me £12 v York, only 3 years ago, now its 50% more.

General Discussion / Trip to Brackley
« on: March 16, 2023, 06:43:09 PM »
:bus: Just over 2 hours to get there and about 3 hours back. The omens where there when the bus was 25 minutes late to arrive at the Walks. The game was not too bad to watch for the home supporters, lovely homely ground, excellent grub, cheap entrance fee and friendly locals. Thanks to the club officials making it happen.

I thought Jordan P. played his socks off, but its clear that we will be lucky to get to the play offs, we just don't play as a team its all too disjointed. Good Luck to the manager he just needs a bit of luck with results go our way, but he has not helped his cause criticising the fans for not turning up when they play like they have recently.

I  watched him a few times when he played for Aldershot when I working down that way and thought what a terrible player, badly disciplined too, was only in the side because of his name. On Tues it was clear to all he is playing way beyond his ability. He can't dribble or take on players and his defending is dire. TW go and watch local players in Downham, Dereham or Heacham where you will see strong local men who know how to defend. What do the others think ?

I hope Aaron returns soon...

After enjoying great game on Saturday, I though Hugo post match interview was very good and positive outlook. I personally found it a very refreshing interview rather than the the full of clichés Tommy comes out with.

However he is mystified why we aren't getting the crowds we use to get under Culverhouse, simple there are too many moroons and sc*m who shout out so much abuse from the North terrace, even against Scarborough the abuse they give the officials was so vile.

There has always been banter against visiting supporters and officials, but never to such vile swearing. There is one particularly vile 18 year old lad about 18, who was a ring leader and I thought was banned from Boston game, as his picture was on wanted list from the police list, who who still attends !

General Discussion / Re: Who is going to Fylde ?
« on: February 27, 2023, 10:33:58 PM »
Well I reckon about 80-100 made the trip, 4 hours each way. It was a good day out and the hosts are much more media savvy and well organised for supporters with away coaches for all their weekend away games, even their programmes where only £3 full of good info from fans.

Darlington and Hereford away, does the team expect many to go and support them, ?.. well get coaches sorted, ...we might have only been 80 strong on Saturday but gave a loud vocal support to get the lads over the line.

I rang round and got a coach company that does the Norwich city away matches they would have done the trip for a 50 seater for £1800 but are now booked up for the day, but how about Darlington in April ? they quoted a similar price , Norwich like all other good community clubs subsidise coach fares to encourage supporters to go. My sons told me they where charged £30 last year to go to Newcastle close to Darlington. If the club are serious about getting into the EFL, they need to do something if they want to build a fan base.

But at the end of day I hope the coach to Brackley is full, to prove to the Chairman that there is a potential solid fan base, if the coach is less than 3/4 full you can't expect the club to do it again. I am going.

General Discussion / TW has been threatened with sack
« on: February 18, 2023, 08:21:44 PM »
Heard from two different sources in the club, that if we lose on Tuesday TW is on his way. the way they played today and his use of substitutes and insisting his son always plays, I think he wants out.

 :glum:

the chairman got back to me directly and said at about £2400 to have a coach tickets would need to be about £60 each, so its a no go, so ive decided to ride my motorbike and make a weekend o fit and visit Blackpool which is only 10 mins away.  Hopefully the prediction's of snow and heavy frosts next weekend do not occur.

Good to his word the Blackley coach is provided by Steve   I hope it will be full...

Does the club want supporters to attend the away fixture on 25th at Flyde ??  well lay on a coach, charge a reasonable amount and it will be full, flyde themselves have organised a coach to us and they have lower home attendances than us !!

Its not only fines, attendances are down, my two adult sons and their mates stopped attending home matches a few months ago after all the chants "we hope your bus crashes on the way home and " you have seen the walks now **** off home" etc, most of these scum watch more on their phones att games than cheer on the linnets. been a regular on the north terrace for over 30 years now and there about 4 or 5 vocal middle aged moroons who all the stewards know, should be spoken too, ok ban them but at least give them  a chance.
