General Discussion / Re: Changes you would make?
« on: October 21, 2023, 06:14:37 PM »
After watching the Darlo game if the new Managers tactics is for Jones to launch 70 yard howitzers from his hands then I would suggest we need a Defty/Gash type to hold the thing up.   Certainly need a right wing back as the International we have there at the mo doesn’t cut it, for me.

Maybe the pitch has been set up so it favour's those kind of tactics.  :dontknow:

Considering he is a Gibralterian that should be not surprising as they are not a renown football nation but beggars cant be losers he is good for the linnets

the person who takes the penalty has the advantage he should  exploit it to the full give creidt to the keeper for the fine save but we need a potent striker and pretty quick too

General Discussion / Re: BUXTON SATURDAY
« on: October 07, 2023, 05:02:20 PM »
A tough start for the new management team against a good Buxton team who are playing well and whom only last Saturday won 3-0 away at Scunny.
It will be interesting to see how many of the injured players return to the matchday squad and who if fit is left out of the squad which would be perhaps a sign of who will be released to make way for new blood.
As the manager has only had a week to work with the squad I think most supporters would be happy with a point.
A loss would not be a disaster as it would be more important the manner of defeat, how the team played and if tactically some improvement can be seen to go forward with.
Just lost 3-1 so major reshuffle to be done

General Discussion / International duty
« on: September 06, 2023, 10:08:27 PM »
one on international duty;Lynn boss Mark Hughes was without both of his wing-backs – Tom Clifford was serving the first of a three-game ban after his red card at Chorley last weekend while Kian Ronan is away on international duty with Gibraltar, who face Malta on Wednesday and Greece next Sunday.

Both players will miss Tuesday’s home game against National League North leaders Brackley as well as next weekend’s home game against Southport.

News of former Linnets / Re: Aaron Cosgrave

Agree on both counts Rod. I am hoping we will have more pace and power in the side generally this year, while still playing decent stuff. Maybe we can ditch the big man little man model upfront (?) and go for someone with genuine pace alongside Ponticelli and Stephens .

fajadto  for me with pont and stephen with bartley now and then

General Discussion / Re: National League North composition 2023-24
« on: May 16, 2023, 02:00:10 PM »
Many years ago we were in the Midland league. Why not restructure to three feeder leagues? Additionally, to reduce travelling costs, the football league structure then consisted of a first and second division plus division three north and south. Think it used to be called common sense?

common sense does not come into the fashion these days elitism does; and financial greed ;gone are the days of good old football now it is like the proverbial skeikdown pardon the pun; or the oligarchs; you see many will go to see the ladies play soon, until the greedy entrepreneur get their greedy hands there as well;  :shark: :shark:
