General Discussion / Re: Future games
« on: August 22, 2021, 01:57:31 PM »
How about A games for the teams which have a large travelling support and B games for the rest. Price B games 20% lower than A games.

That way Mr C maximises his revenue from the opposition supporters but allows more locals to see their team in action against the poorer supported visitors.

A little research should allow the Club to decide how to classify yhe games.

If you think it's  negativity then it's  born out of frustration.

There is so much that could be done that supporters are willing and aching to be involved with but we have Sweet Fanny Adams.

And that will never change cos Mr C doesn't want to relate to the Common Man. Just 'Give me your money'.

When the Stand seats were replaced, some 20 years ago, it was deemed too expensive to number the seats.
That was an understandable decision at the time but surely now, in the interests of safety and too avoid potential aggravation, they should be numbered.
I can foresee quite a few animated conversations on Saturday.

I'm a bit confused.

 Which turnstiles need operators?

Last year a steward scanned the ticket and you walked in, certainly at the turnstile near the box office.

Different system this year?

I have had both jabs and was pleased to have them relatively early in the programme.

Likewise I can understand some people's reluctance but certainly not on the basis that ' I'm not having that in my body, I don't know what's in it' .........as they wander off for a McSh*te and cola.

The word which probably sums up the feelings of the majority of supporters is FRUSTRATION.

We love the Club and want it to be successful at this level but Mall's post highlights the problems.

Sadly I can't see any change in approach from SC: it is simply not in his DNA to give up absolute control of, as he sees it, HIS football Club.

Roger at the Crown and M always has a good selection of ales and the setting is superb especially if the tide is high ( could be a song).

Roger is one of those ' grumpy old men' so be prepared to give it back.

That is a very well put together post and gives us all food for thought.

As regards ale the FENMAN pub is directly across the road from the station ( someone will correct me if it is closed) and the pubs near the ground are the LORD NAPIER, LIVE AND LET LIVE, and the LONDON PORTERHOUSE which are small, small, and smaller!

There is a Wetherspoons in the town centre.

It's about finding a way of maximising your income from a captive audience in a limited time. It's not rocket science.

And regarding the charge of  £1000 plus VAT for a burger van to attend on a matchday, how many burgers does Mr. C think can be served during the limited time before a game and at halftime.

By my reckoning they would need to sell 600 to break even and that ain't possible.

Perhaps they don't teach economics at posh schools!

Outside competition may help the Club to up their game...I very much doubt it though.

The attitude seems to be to take as much as they can with as little effort as possible.
