General Discussion / Re: Season tickets« on: May 16, 2024, 09:19:20 AM »
I thought season tickets were good value last season (£13 a game) hence buying one for the first time in several seasons. Know of more fans who brought them for the first time as well.

General Discussion / Backie - get well soon« on: March 26, 2024, 11:24:24 AM »
Help Backie get back on track
Robert Back, or known by most as Backie, suffered last month with an illness that was thought to be a stroke. After 16 long days in Lincoln, he was allowed to be with his family again back home. Backie was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). FND describes a problem with how the brain receives and sends information to the rest of the body. Backie now has a long road to recovery. https://gofund.me/06b305ac 20

Mallard - all I will say is that I never had an issue with the chairman personally and he was very understanding and indeed helpful when I had to stand down from the role.

Very rarely read or respond to posts on the forum but.....
Can only talk from when I was a volunteer on media side. There was always a match preview & report for games (even if sometimes limited). There was usually a round up of other weekend games (Ladies, reserves/u21) and squad information was updated as and when. As a volunteer I was often criticised for not putting on stories that chairman had put in programme and/or EDP column but would often be a case of reading them at the same time as everyone else. However, I believe the media team are still all volunteers (they may get away travel etc covered)....and the chairman seems happy with this as mentioned in one of his programme notes earlier this season, which seems to be how he wants to work it. They have other full times job, as I did, which should take priority. I offered my services towards end of last season to help with reports etc and was told it's all in hand. Actual matchday coverage is better in my view. Going back to the first post - there is a story on website re James Shilling be appointed. Just have to go to the News section https://www.kltown.co.uk/2023/11/23/news-new-operations-manager-in-place/ 22
General Discussion / Downham play off game« on: April 22, 2022, 09:44:11 AM »
If you can't make the away game at Dagenham tomorrow then Downham have a play-off semi final at home to Norwich CBS (3pm) - a chance for them to make it to Step 5 for first time in their history.
Had some Lynn Academy lads play for them this season, and one of the joint managers works for Lynn so I'm sure they'll appreciate any extra support. 23
General Discussion / Re: Media« on: August 25, 2021, 04:49:06 PM »That’s fair enough Jamie. Any idea when his media ban ends ? Is there no one else at the club now who can deal with such issues ? I kind of thought with MH moving on you had been moved up the pecking order. All I know is the chairman will have a column in Monday’s programme so I guess that answers that question. I was temporarily moved up the pecking order (a shame it was leaked on here despite my request but there you go) however since then it’s not possible to fully commit to the season so just doing what I can (mainly website stuff) 24
General Discussion / Re: Media« on: August 25, 2021, 04:43:48 PM »Jamie with everything at the club on the playing side seemingly being full time does it not merit someone handling the media side on the MO ? Good questions which I would suggest are best for the chairman to answer. I’ve been involved for over 3 years now, so if any micro-managing was going to happen it would have by now. 25
General Discussion / Re: Media« on: August 25, 2021, 04:20:16 PM »
Can only speak for myself but since I’ve been involved with the media team the chairman has had little to no involvement. Basically left alone to get on with it unless there has been an issue (which is understandable). He’s generally been happy with what’s been done and as said more or less given a free reign.
We know not everything isn’t perfect, hence asking for more help. I’m sure we’ll get there. 26

As I said, not true. The website was designed and is run by a external company (with a few people able to post stories and update). Malcolm is wrong on this occasion. 28
General Discussion / Re: 2 Days to go« on: August 19, 2021, 06:07:21 PM »It's just very strange isn't. If you were the Chairman you would def be wanting to maximise revenue from the off....so if you were going to change things internally , you would have new people in place by now, surely. So if we were to discount that, why would people leave just as such a big season were about to start. I’m not stupid. I know exactly what has been hinted at. Here’s to the new season starting on Saturday! 29

So if we were to discount that, why would people leave just as such a big season were about to start. Nothing sinister B&G. I’m taking a temporary break due to health reasons (which I don’t need to go into on here & to be honest is nobody’s business but mine and who I chose to tell). I’ve agreed to carry on helping the club with website stuff at the moment as it can obviously be done from home. Totally my decision and the club (especially Mr Cleeve) totally supportive. 30
General Discussion / Re: New Staff« on: July 31, 2021, 07:02:13 PM »All good to have in place, KES, but not money spinners. And, to be honest, I don’t think they should be priorities, apart from trained stewards, because most people who attend games at the moment live fairly close by - why not have a bite or a cuppa before they come ? Beer won’t sell much, if people have to drive home. I see you made a point or two on the “thread” today, so presume you watched the game. Any impressions of the team or players ? I wouldn’t usually respond, and shouldn’t have to justify myself but my Dad has been in hospital and only recently discharged hence why I didn’t go to Stratford. I’m sorry family takes precedence over a pre-season friendly. I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again, if he ends up in hospital I won’t bother seeing him. Be nice if people thought there’s a reason why things don’t happen….guess that too much to ask. My one & only comment on the subject. Here’s to a good season.
