I was at the match and I don't believe that the gate was anywhere near that figure, and neither did the crowd. The chap I sit near to and I regularly try to guess the attendance. We're usually not far off. This time I said 300 and he said 450. A long way off and we just looked at each other and laughed. So did most of the people sitting around us.

But, a genuine question, what would be the purpose of inflating the attendance ?

Can I just ask a question? After a win, as opposed to being positive or happy, why do you decide to accuse the club of artificially inflating numbers which do not have any benefits anyway?

I’d also ask you, were you really there and would you consider yourself a fan? I know what 300 fans look like and it definitely wasn’t 300.

Why is it so hard to be happy about the team?

 :scarf: :dontknow:

Kieran, I was there on Saturday, and without going into detail, I have reason to be able to assess crowd size. I would agree with you, I suspect the attendance figure was definitely close to accurate. I also know what a blatantly false figure looks like, they usually happen at FA Cup games.

There is no good, financial reason, for a club to intentionally inflate an attendance figure.

General Discussion / Tommy Widdrington sacked?

Some rumours on the Aldershot forum tonight that Tommy has been sacked and the official announcement will come tomorrow. I think it's probably a false rumour, but it's interesting that someone wanted to get it going.

A fine performance all round, by everyone.

Cody Johnson looks a coup, Tommy Hughes is a real tidy footballer, who as Adam Lakeland said in his interview, with a full pre-season behind him should reap the rewards.

But they all played well and could have had more goals today.

Which brings me onto my one gripe - and again, the boss wasn't happy either - that stupid penalty by Gold.......I can't swaer on this forum, so lets just say it was rubbish........really rubbish, including a rubbish run up.

By all means try that when we're 4-0 up, don't try it  when there's only one goal in it!!
Again, as Lakeland said, that miss then affected him a few minutes later when he had a one on one with the keeper and he fluffed his lines.
But, he'll get 20 plus goals this season, so I shouldn't be too harsh.

One other "gripe" - why weren't the away fans in the corner??
I didn't like them having the whole end behind the goal

Hi, Walks in the sunshine. The game wasn't segregated. The away fans could go anywhere.
