General Discussion / Re: Who to keep, who to let go.

Golds scored alot of his career goals under TW and is contracted for another season I believe, also entering his prime years. Barrett I think has another year too.
I'd assume Coulson is surplus to requirements at Southend, he nor Jones aren't getting any younger and have the experience the squad lacks.
I don't think King will play again, not sure about McFadden but hopefully he gets back to fitness.
The others I too would like to stay.
Gyasi being loaned out because for developments sake or to get rid?

I wonder what system/formation we will go with next season.

Most Football clubs at this level struggle financially.  The gates won't pay anywhere near the cost of running a club.

I can't see why not, with all these ex League players only wanting £400 a week!

These ex league players could earn more at the Subway down the road

Gold is allegedly on 900 a week? :bankrupt:

32% of his career goals(10years) have come under TW

So Aldershot realistically need 4 points from their remaining 6 fixtures starting with Solihul Moors, then Bromley, Notts Co, Maidenhead, Halifax and Wealdstone. Fingers crossed the 3 big sides do what's expected, so then 4 points from 3 games.

We obviously have 4 games left. The 3 after Dagenham have little to play for in their seasons
Can only hope that we get 3pts tomorrow(and hope Morias doesn't pull our trousers down) a tonne of confidence, and that the remaining 3 have eyes on their summer holidays.

I added Widdrington due to his relationship, and perhaps he'd be effective a division down?
Very good points Tony, my initial post was somewhat hasty and vague.
I'd forgotten that JB and GO were on another year too, 9 and 10 for next season already sorted then? Clunan as the '8'.

Assuming we are down a division next season, who would you opt to retain if it were up to you?
For me it's both Jones, Clunan, Barrows, Widdrington, Mcfadden (assuming he's fit enough to play) and Barrett (if he stays) off top of my head

After Halifax I too would be wanting nothing less than a win against bottom place. Get a little run going and give Aldershot something else to worry about

I had a look at  Aldershots fan forum and it's pretty doom and gloom, they feel that they've thrown in the towel already.

For what it's worth, Aldershot have lost their last 5 and only managed to score once

That’s an excellent result on the road.  Two massive home games now to follow.  Should help swell the crowd numbers

I'm thinking of coming Tuesday night with my partner, can you or anyone reccomend please good places to park for free? How much tickets are for the stands? And how early to queue for tickets? Thanks

I'll let the 6quid slide   :countingmoney:
In regards to the chairman asking for help with fines, I read his EDP article about whether engaging on social media is a good idea for him due to all the backlash he recieves. Maybe the fine-raising post was misconstrued a little but I can't help but feel that when he engages in the EDP he comes across so poorly in his rants, I just see part Alan Partridge part narcisist. He's either the hero or the victim. Perhaps he needs a proof reader.

The manner of communication via Social Media and the Norfolk rag, rather than the act itself?   :dontknow:

I just don't see a very diplomatic or professional image in his writings. TW makes a much better spokesperson for the club, I'd say that is his best trait as a manager. I spoke to a Bristol fan not long ago who wasn't so complimentary on his time at Rovers in terms of recruitment (no surprise to you I'm sure) I really don't see TW here next season unless he keeps us up or doesn't get a better offer. Snake charmer charming a snake oil salesman is what I see of the current affairs

Quarter past 2 and I'm trudging through the walks thinking this is quiet, 6quid in the parking meter. At least I didn't come from Bromley I guess
Being as fans are being asked to donate towards managers and clubs fines, perhaps the club can ask for monies to refund your parking ticket at least.  That's a far better idea than suggesting to pay fines when the manager and players cannot control themselves on seemingly a refusal of a penalty.
As i said a few weeks ago , no pitch prepared, game off  and no need to therefore have a squad.
Likewise no referee, no game, no need to have a team.
Perhaps if we were to get our own house in order first and foremost!

I haven't really seen much of us this season, what's been going wrong with Gold?
Is he not getting the service? Is he not getting into good positions? Has he been more of a target for. Knockdowns? Or is he simply not good enough?
