Agree with a lot of Hello Kitty post. I used to be a regular for many years, I've been twice since the Kidderminster playoff defeat. Never thought that I would, but I have totally lost any interest in going. I do go to the Walks every Saturday, but that's to do parkrun and I never come away disappointed.
Last week I made some comments towards the radio commentary to which there were a few comments. I listened to some of it today and yes, I was somewhat harsh on the lad, so for that I apologise. Some constructive criticism though, would to be a little less bias, but well done and thank you.
I wish I had the same enthusiasm to go and watch the team like I once had and I'm going back as far as the Lindsay / Wright / Easthall days.

Probably a point gained. Were we ever going to score, it sounded pretty dire along with the commentator, where on earth did they get him from, embarrassing and littered with mistakes and dross.
Not being able to score is going to cost us any chance of a play off.

I hope you're right Mallard, would be great to get all 3 points. Although just because a team is in a play off spot is playing a team in a relegation spot, doesn't guarantee a win. Having just seen our starting 11, with no recognised forward again, we may struggle to score. Can see AL's post match interview saying "it's always a hard place to go, especially on a rainy Tuesday evening'. Hope I'm wrong, but could see us losing. Guess Margetts will come on at some point, but he can't be fully fit, otherwise he would have started. Predicting a 2-1 defeat. Never good at predictions, so hoping that continues.

With the exception of their 7-0 defeat against Spennymoor, Rushall have had four wins recently beating the likes of Scunthorpe and Kidderminster, so anyone thinking we should win their May want to have a rethink. We had a narrow 2-1 win when we played them at home, goal scorers were Margetts and Omotayo. They are unlikely to be in the team tomorrow, so will need to rely on others scoring, maybe a new loanee forward. To keep a nice gap between us and 8th spot, a win would be very useful.

If we haven't got recognised forwards in the starting team, is it any wonder that we struggle to score goals. Just as TW kept bringing in non forwards when we were struggling to score, AL brings in a defender. Yes, I get that it's not easy to find a proven goal scorer, but without one or indeed any striker at all, we won't win too many games. Peterborough Sports must have looked at our line and been pleasantly surprised. Imagine getting into the playoffs and playing the likes of Scunthorpe when we field no forwards, the result would be embarrassing, a bit like Kidderminster.
If AL is serious about promotion then he needs to address the current lack of a forward situation. If he is 'the best manager in the league' which I don't think he is, then he would have contacts. Agree too, with the full time team, if we don't go up this season then I can see us reverting back to part time. I'm sure some of the players are only here because they are getting paid full time wages.

With both Margetts and Omotayo missing, would have expected any loan player would be a forward. Good luck to the team today, predicting a draw, hoping for a win.

Agree with B&G, an away win is always good. Good that we saw the game out after Warrington scored, that and Omatoyo scoring are very pleasing.
Listening to it via their commentary, they seemed to be wingeing about the ref quite a bit.

Always think back to the Super Play Off Final when we play Warrington, what a day that was.
Their current form is second bottom with just 3 goals scored from 6 games, making them one of only four teams that have scored less than us in the last six games. There is our problem at the moment, so stats would suggest that it will be a low scoring game today. Prediction is 1-0, hopefully to us.

I didn't expect too much from today's game, it was always going to be a tough ask to come away with anything. Bit surprised at the starting line up though, with Margetts missing and not having a recognised forward starting. Great setup at Scunthorpe and fantastic support, good luck to them for the rest if the season. Good travelling support from us too.
Hopefully we can pick ourselves up and consolidate a play off spot. Feel we do need a new striker, but not Ken Charles as has been suggested. Like Omotayo, not prolific goal scorers. Would be better getting Marriott in on loan, can't see that happening though.
Have a feeling Margetts will be out for a bit, so we need to get a replacement in sooner rather than later.

Agree with DougJR. We are 3rd in the league and doing as well as anyone could have reasonably expected. Should we gain promotion to the National League, the squad would need a big makeover, as what we have now would struggle.
We are no sleeping giant, never have been. Our ground hasn't changed over the years and is far from inviting. I get the frustration from AL in his post match interview yesterday. He is passionate and wants to win games. It looks like Johnson is heading back and his loan spell has ended, maybe AL could get a forward on loan. Omotayo isn't in his plans as he just doesn't score enough goals for a number 9.
Boxing Day and New Years Day always attract bigger attendances, just see how many will be at Scunthorpe, and it isn't because we will be in town.
As for what the fans want, probably attractive attacking football without inflated prices to sit in a shabby and unclean stand.

An excellent result today away at Chester. Looking promising in a play off spot and with the defence looking good with just 1 goal conceded in 6 games. Well done to the team and management on our current e cell ent form.

AL's opening few words post Southport, "they don't generally concede too many goals". Well they have now conceded 30, which is amongst the worse. Anyway a very welcome 3 points yesterday. I listened to some of the second half yesterday, via the Southport commentary. Pleased that Margetts scored his penalty after missing his previous one. That would have played in his mind a bit, so good for him for stepping up to take it.
Went to the first game ( v Warrington) not since, so not in a position to judge performances, but sitting in a play off spot, so can't be bad. We don't seem to score many goals and can't rely on Margetts all the time. I know Marriott was a favourite when he was here and although he is at Boston, he always seems to be on the bench. What are the views on trying to get him here on loan maybe. Surely he would rather be starting, him and Margetts up front could work, or is he just passed his best.

For 40 odd years I used to be a regular at the Walks. After TW jumped ship and the disappointment of Kidderminster in the play offs, I've only been twice, Scarborough last season and Warrington this.
We got into the National League, somewhat fortunately I think it's fair to say. Covid curtailed the season and although we were second in the league, having played a game less than York, we had the slightly better PPG. Our form slumped dramatically and our game in hand away at Gloucester was postponed, had that game gone ahead and we lost, it would have been York going up instead.
1st season we finished in what would normally have been a relegation spot, but there were no relegation / promotion from and to the National League. 2nd season, we again finished in a relegation spot, so what was learnt / corrected from the previous season?
It's certainly a big step up and whether or not Mr Cleeve is ambitious, realistically how could we sustain that level with around 1400 gates, which we were getting.
Someone has said we need to replace Gold. He wasn't at Fylde and Kidderminster for long, so what does that say. How many goals has he scored this season, not enough for sure.
Listening to the commentary last night, we should have scored, that seems to be the case in several games. We missed an opportunity with not signing Toll, his current record would suggest he is better than Gold.

We are in good form, so hopefully we can take at least a point today at Chorley. We have now gone 12 games since we have scored from a recognised forward. Having said that, we have only conceded more than 1 goal once in that time. Omotoyo is due a goal, maybe today is the day. Wondered if AL would have tried to bring in Marriott from Boston on loan whilst Margetts was out, he wasn't getting in their starting 11, so could have been beneficial to both parties.
I was impressed with what I saw from the game at Spennymoor. If we can play like that today, there is no reason why we can't get a similar result, so as much as I would be happy if we share the points, I am going to predict a 2 - 1 win, with Omotoyo scoring.

3-0, I hope you're right, but in our last 8 games we have failed to score in 5 of them and only scored more the 1 once. No recognised forward has scored in those 8 games either. The sooner that Margetts is back the better. Buxton could well pick up their first away point today, as one goal for them may do it. So as much as I hope we win, my realistic head is saying 1-1.
