Would it be possible to make it so could join online rather than download a form and post it. A lot more would probably join if it was easier.

Maybe contact one of the committee members through the facebook page?

The membership of the fotl  for a club our size is pathetic we need to attract more members to join the F O T L we need a drive to recruit more members

Soon be time for the AGM won't it, maybe some ideas could be thrown around there, after the members meeting perhaps non members could come in,and chat? Also throw a few more pennies behind the bar? :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

That last exchange between Mallard and Blue and Gold, had me smiling.... was a little like an old club act...one sets it up, the other knocks it off......... don't suppose you have any other positions in mind where Lynn need strengthening Mall.....then B&G can let us know who's coming in to fill them, he he !

Talking about double acts Kes, who's your straight man these days now Stan no longer posts? Didn't he move home and go into rented accommodation?

 :laughcry:

I heard he had moved into cellar under the stand, plenty of room for his buckets. I swear I heard someone singing the Phantom of the opera when I walked past the other day. :laughcry: :laughcry: :laughcry: :laughcry: :laughcry:

I would like to donate on a monthly basis, but not until I know that there will be a full and transparent remit as to where the money is going.  :scarf: :scarf:

I think there may be a few of us in that position SL, that is why I have suggested the War Chest (and any fan contribution fundraising) should be a FotL campaign - the club would still get the cash (as that is the whole MO of the FotL) but it would then be clearly reported, as a minimum, at the Friends AGM and any questions about (any) scheme's operation could be brought up at the AGM and at £5 membership isn't financially prohibitive.

I have mentioned previously thar maybe they put the price of membership up to £10,and become a social club. :dontknow:

Griss, sorry but I don't understand the logic of changing the FotL from it's current format - everyone know what it is there to do and whilst there may be differing opinions about how well it achieves its aims, those aims are reasonably well understood - what would a 'social club' do?  Personally if the FotL moved away from it's stated aims of co-ordinating supporters to help raise revenue funds for the football club then I probably wouldn't renew my membership.

As we are a far bigger team than when the FOTL was brought in to being, and I feel it needs to grow with the club? And a way to do that would be to increase the size of the committee slightly, raise subs to £10 a year, form a sub committee to organise social club events? :dontknow: :scarf:

General Discussion / Ground Development Fund.
« on: June 18, 2020, 12:32:22 AM »
Now we have made the amazing step up to the National League I believe the Ground Development Fund is going to be much more important,as so much more will have to be done. In light of all the efforts Mr Cleeve has made to raise funds to run the club,it highlights the importance of the Ground Development Fund, the more that this fund can raise the more Mr Cleeve can have left to spend on the team etc?

It is to this end that as a Trust Member virtually since its inception and one time Director I now feel that it is time to put a proposal to Trust members, the proposal being that if the Ground Development Fund reaches £5000 the members agree that the trust can match that amount and donate to the club? :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Not those who want the team to succeed they have long arms and short pockets

Maybe some peoples arms are only long enough to find what they have in their pockets, for some people just getting in and a cup of tea is all they can manage! Everyone is an individual with individual needs and resources,if you have the spare cash to put into the various fundraisers run by the club then fair play, but please don't belittle those less fortunate! :argue:

How far would you take this"null and void" regarding payments?
The season is wiped, so every player must pay back their wages, as well as any bonuses?
And the fans, do they get all money paid for admission refunded?
Of course not, it would be ridiculous.
In the unique circumstances, all leagues should just be void, and that's it. Not moral to expect players to return payment. You wouldn't in any other job.

Those players earned every penny of their money, and I myself would not begrudge them a penny. Where do we go next, sorry Steve we know you done a great job with the pitch, but season null and void, can we have your wages back? Excuse me bar staff where are you going? And Mark I know you have only just taken up the job,but hand over the money? :dontknow:

Good news in the press today with the FotL making a £5K donation to the club

https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/kings-lynn-town/linnets-receive-donation-1-6600704

This is exactly what the FotL is for, maybe if they were more visibly promoted and/or more fans supported them then they could make many more meaningful contributions going forward.  Only negative in the press release was a completely unnecessary sentence about the Trust which shows a complete ignorance of the differences between the FotL and the B&G Trust and is hardly likely to help relations if and when football does come out of this lockdown.

How to sour a piece of good news with yet another dig at the trust! Money was offered by the trust in line with trust rules and regulations as set down in the constitution,it was the club that declined the money! The FOTL have no such constitution so therefore their funds can be spent anyway the club sees fit,but to call it a supporters club it stretching things a bit,it does very little for the good of the supporters,it is primarily a fund raising body for the club!

Stephen Cleeve wanted donations, loans are all very well but he has  to pay them back!
The aims of the Trust are to "to purchase a stakeholding in the club" not be sole owner.
No, I don't think the Trust could not leap in and save the club but as part of a consortium  they might achieve something, although I doubt if any consortium would want to put in the kind of money Stephen Cleeve appears to doing.

The aim of the business is to facilitate and provide the structure for an affordable, sustainable and enterprising football club in King’s Lynn.  It will also invite the supporters, the local business fraternity and the wider community of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk to be stakeholders in the process.  In forming this community based not-for-profit model, the marketing potential would be more lucrative. In order to comply with Football League rules, a Limited Company (Ltd Co) will be formed with a £100,000 share capital.  Fifty percent of the shares (£50,000) will be owned by the Trust, and the other 50% will be offered to ideally another ten investors each owning 5% of the shares (£5,000 each).  These other investors would be known as vice-presidents of the Ltd Co.  A management board would then be formed and would be made up of 5 Trust Directors, 5 Vice-presidents. This model would allow for supporter representation in the running of the football club, and would facilitate the general principles of a Supporter’ Trust.  The Trust would continue to operate but would have a more direct role in representing its members by having part ownership of the Football Club. An organisational chart can be found at Annex A.  Financial projections can be found at Annex B.  It must be noted that these figures are estimated and obviously would be subject to change according to arising situations.

Its all there in the Trust Business Plan 2015. If people did a bit of research life could be so much easier.

Just Mr Cleeve put his spin on the proceedings and cried foul to the press before facts were known. As a trust member I feel that had the trust just given money with no security then it would be a breech of contract? My belief is that if the trust gives money to the club then it must own a stake, and that is the way the basis of the constitution works, anything other than that I could consult my solicitor? :dontknow:

Firstly, I need to say that I am a fan of the Trust... it's ideals and what it aims to provide....
however, I am hugely grateful to SC and what has been achieved under his tenure. It seems to me that the rapid success on the field has in some ways disempowered the likes of the Trust and FolL......the sums involved now in terms of what is required to support a step1 or 2 side are massive in comparison to what the Trust for example can offer.........and at this stage is £60k likely to be enough to resurrect the club if it went under ?...however laudable the intent ?  If the answer to this is no, then is there a legitimate case for the Trust to reconsider its role ?

Or would the Trust actually up its game to match the events as Portsmouth FC Trust did?  :dontknow:

Sleight of hand, in this hand I have whining about not accepting trust funds because I don't like their terms, whilst at the same time taking fan donations, and wallah in the other hand sneaks in a new player funded by myself?
