General Discussion / It's a funny old game.
« on: September 05, 2017, 12:25:14 PM »
In the words of Greavsie, it's a funny old game, and with the onset of social media you get to realise what type of fans there are?  Only the modern concept of social media allows you to air your opinions of your club and the way it is run, or discuss the latest games, no part of a football club is left out? In the old days it would only be discussed in the bar after the game, or at work Monday morning, and on a Tuesday when you read the Lynn News and realised that the reporter was at a different game to you. We have the diehard fans who attend every game home and away, we have the fans who will attend every home game, we have fans who will attend every game that their personal circumstances allow, we have fans that will only attend reserve games, we have fans that only turn up when things are going well, and we have fans that only turn up because of who owns the club!  How many more categories of fans can you come up with?  The thing that all of these groups of fans have in common is that in their own way they support King's Lynn town FC, and therefore are entitled to their opinion, let us all hope that things continue to go well on the pitch, so that the only gripes people have are concerning minor irritations?  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / Youth game.
« on: August 13, 2017, 02:12:43 PM »
Just wondering if there is a charge for watching the youth game?  Or maybe just have free entry plus have the bar open as a social evening, maybe a 50/50 type draw? Could possibly draw more people in than charging on the gate, start making use of the facilities?  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / FOTL meeting.
« on: June 30, 2017, 02:30:43 PM »
Reading plenty of comments on various Facebook pages regarding the meeting last night at the club, seems to me that the bottom line of the meeting was just keep giving me your money? To my mind a football club of Lynn's size shouldn't be relying on a fan club to purchase such basics as corner flags and goalposts, it just seems to me that basic budgeting has gone woefully wrong, and the fans are being looked too to make up the shortfall? Not a single mention from anyone about anything that would benefit the fans, has to be remembered that fans have x amount of pounds to spend on the matchplay experience, which to my mind includes food and drink, and if people can get these cheaper en-route then they will! Not even a ball kicked yet in the new season and the begging bowl is being rattled! :banghead; :banghead; :banghead;

Friends of the Linnets‏.

There is a meeting for all FOTL members to be held at the football club on Thursday 29 June, 7pm for 7.15pm start.

No mention as yet of a fans forum that could be attended by all fans? So that we can all be kept up to speed?  :dontknow:

General Discussion / LACK OF ACTIVITY?
« on: June 13, 2017, 02:04:43 PM »
Is there nobody at King's Lynn Town football club that can tap into the activities on the walks? I believe that every weekend in June has some sort of fun day going on? Why has nobody at the club thought of maybe an open day or something to coincide with said events,seems as if raising money is very much a minor irritation to the club? All we have heard so far is signings and outlay,nothing that can put minds to rest about income,still no mention of a sponsor? Could we be heading to another raffle debacle,I would certainly have a ticket,team running out every week with Grissles emblazened on the shirts? :dontknow:

General Discussion / Job anyone?
« on: April 16, 2017, 10:12:07 PM »
For all those who would like a part time job and feel they can rake in the funds for the club,and possibly get free entry each week,maybe this is this answer?
