General Discussion / Friends of the Linnets.
« on: March 29, 2017, 12:22:43 AM »
Just looking for opinions here,I believe the original idea behind setting up the friends was to fall into line with the councils wishes to have some sort of fans representation at the club? Does anyone else think it is about time that the friends was transformed into a proper supporters club, more of a social club with an elected committee? :dontknow:

With the departure allegedly of Quigley and Stevenson how many more will follow? With the rumour mill going into overdrive, one such rumour I have heard is Setch being linked with a possible partnership with Paul Cousins at Wisbech? Another source has reeled that Warburton and Hawkins have requested release? And amongst players not at training last night was Revan? Can anybody shed any light on this?  :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

General Discussion / Entry fee?
« on: February 06, 2017, 09:15:06 PM »
Anyone who has seen Nick Whiley's tweet should know by now that there is talk of raising the price to 12 for adults next season, is there any truth in this? Will this make us the most expensive club at our level?  Trying to build a team and increase attendance will not be helped by putting up the price? Some games I go to due to circumstances I can scrape up enough for entry and a cup of tea at half time, if the price rises should I go without tea,or take a flask and risk having it confiscated? Will a price hike stop some from coming, and will it prevent away fans coming?  Will we see a return to the scenarios where away from home we get charged extra again?  Another dumb move in my opinion!  :banghead; :banghead; :banghead;

General Discussion / GIVEN UP HOPE?
« on: January 23, 2017, 10:35:32 AM »
So after a thrashing at the weekend, bad results before that, our "star player" being shuffled out of the door, season is over all bar the tinpot NSC,calls for the managers head, fans deserting in droves becaquse we have nothing to play for? Is this a football club or another setting for a soap opera, don't get this many twists and turns on Eastenders! So where does the responsibilty lay? It actually lays squarely on the shoulders of Setch and the players, nobody else! Supporters turn up to support, and are a very important part of the club, without them there would be no club, the man at the helm,in charge of the money box is also very important, but not as important as the fans. Then we have the staff and volunteers at every game, without them no beer or burgers etc, also very important as the fans need sustinence etc. Season is not over for many weeks yet, realistically we won't win the league, realistically not a play off place, but I feel this is going to be the toughest few months of ever of  the managerial career so far for Setch,he has got to find his voice again,he has got to motivate the team,he has got to make sure that all players are firing on all cylinders and playing "as a team", this is not the time for experiments,it is time to go all out, never give up,never say die. This team when all on song can push any team in this league over,so let them carry on pushing, push all the way to the finish line,if they give 100% every game I will happily accept the tinpot, but I wouldn't set that as my goal. Now is the time for another fans forum, players, fans and management need to be involved, bring back the buzz!  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / LAVENDER HILL THEATRE GROUP.
« on: December 20, 2016, 09:37:47 AM »
Some of you my be aware of a local group the Lavender Hill theater group, they provide an opportunity to perform for all age groups and abilities, male or female. As with any group they rely heavily on donations and voluntary assistance. At this present moment in time they would love to have some voluntary help from any builders, plumbers and electricians to make a few minor alterations to their office space in town,if anyone can spare some time could they please contact them.

As for fund raising this is an ongoing thing, to this end they are holding a bucket collection with the blessing of Mr Cleeve at the home game against St Ives on 2nd January 2017,so any spare change you can drop in their buckets at the game would be more than helpful.

General Discussion / ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.
« on: December 14, 2016, 11:16:45 AM »
Now that things seem to be coming together on the pitch and financially coming together is it not time for the FOTL to become a proper supporters club and start to organise things for the fans? We have a great facility in the Linnets lounge which is massively under utilised, the opportunity is there for quiz nights, race nights etc, maybe just open the bar a few nights a week as a social club, put in a pool table and dart board, poker nights, all these things could be tried?   :dontknow::dontknow:

General Discussion / FAO Mr Cleeve?
« on: October 22, 2016, 10:30:15 PM »
As we have a major annual event in the King's Lynn calendar do you think Mr Cleeve would try and take advantage of thousands of people that attend and open the bar at the club, may crank the disco up nd flip a few burgers? :dontknow:

General Discussion / Is it just me?
« on: October 19, 2016, 11:00:46 PM »
I don't know about anyone else, but after all the bluff and bluster of the fans forum, basically Mr Cleeve was going to lead us to the promised land! As this season stands I have only seen a couple of games, but everything seems as flat as a witches tit ,after all my years of watching Lynn I have never been so disenchanted with the club. Seems to be no atmosphere, food and drink seems much worse than we were promised, changes being made that holds up entry, advertising of games is no better than under Buster, no main sponsor, players and backroom staff leaving, I am not seeing much to tempt me to the next home game?  :glum:

General Discussion / SWEARY MAN AT FOOTBALL MATCH.
« on: August 30, 2016, 07:40:05 AM »
Allegedly a man was heard swearing at a football match yesterday? What is the world coming to? I think anyone who swears in a football ground should be ejected,so listen up Setch and staff, also players and visiting teams please be aware that any type of sweary behaviour will not be tolerated!! :red card: :red card: :red card:
