General Discussion / Onward and upwards.
« on: August 18, 2018, 11:22:31 PM »
So now we have that all important first win under our belts we have the bank holiday weekend to look forward to. Two big games within three days against local rivals, first up we entertain St Neots will we top the 1000 mark for that game? Bank holiday travels to Lowestoft and I think we will travel with more than the hardy 35 souls who saw todays game? Apart from the obvious desire to gain the points I think pride and bragging rights are at stake as well? :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / Go fund me.
« on: August 15, 2018, 02:35:21 PM »
I have noticed that a good fund me page has been set up to pay the costs that the football club have incurred in the wake of the play off games? Is this not taking things a little bit too far, the football club is a business and is paying for a mistake, will we now start seeing go fund me pages for every company that makes an error of judgement? Many local charities would have made far more use of that money!  :banghead; :banghead; :banghead;

General Discussion / Tamworth.
« on: August 15, 2018, 11:36:58 AM »
So on to Tamworth Saturday, what a day that will be, will fans travel to watch the team the way it is currently playing? Sad that it is only the third game of the season and fans are already disenchanted with the new set up? First time for many years that I have stood at a game and the Lynn fans were so condemning of the management? Will the manager and players manage to turn it around Saturday or will it be more of the same? Another loss on Saturday would cost us dearly, as the next game is a home game, and form brings people through the gate, and we need those people through the gate to pay the bills, vast amounts of money haven't been thrown in, so every £13 is vital?  :dontknow:

General Discussion / At home to Spalding.
« on: July 24, 2018, 11:56:39 AM »
Last friendly before the season starts, at home to Spalding, last chance to get a look at the team until the season starts. Hopefully nothing else clashes with this game, and I think it is reasonably priced, Adults and concessions £8, 16 to 18 £4 and Under-16s free. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / Bar manager required.
« on: July 20, 2018, 12:35:59 AM »
Ad on indeed asking for bar manager?

King’s Lynn Town FC is not just a football club with very busy periods which require a lot of planning in a fast paced dynamic environment but also holds all sorts of events, from weddings to wakes and from Christmas parties to Corporate events

Previous bar essential and the ability to manage a cellar is vital as is the ability to communicate in a clear manner. Your role will be to ensure that all food and drink outlets on match days are properly staffed, that stock is controlled and that all bars and food outlets work efficiently. Clearly the job will involve working Saturday afternoons (although not in May, June and July) and some Tuesday evenings. The club will need to be staffed for first team games and when the first team are it at home the reserves are so you with maybe one other will look after the main food outlet on these weekends.

The rest of the role will be responding to incoming enquiries for wedding bookings and the like and showing around interested parties. Finally we would hope that you would like to put on your own events and parties, maybe for Xmas or any other times and you would run and staff these events as you would for any other bookings.

Hours very depending on cup games and the number of games in a month but would probably total 40 to 55 hours a month.

Immediate start

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: £8.00 to £9.00 /hour

Bar Management: 1 year

General Discussion / Slough game?
« on: July 14, 2018, 04:09:13 PM »
Seems all went quiet after the scuffles at the Slough game, will the fa being taking any action? Would hate to think something could bite us in the butt for the upcoming season, maybe in the form of a fine or points deduction?  :dontknow:

General Discussion / New season.
« on: July 10, 2018, 10:45:12 PM »
With the new season almost upon us what are peoples expectations of the team? Last season we were led to the cusp of promotion, unfortunately falling at the final hurdle, seems like we will be running with a like or better budget than last season, should we settle for anything less than automatic promotion?  :dontknow: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / Game tonight.
« on: July 06, 2018, 12:59:29 PM »
Just in  case people hadn't noticed there is a game tonight, friendly v Norwich who I believe are sending a first team squad? Make sure you ar there early as they are expecting an attendance not seen since Grant Holt arrived, and do not forget that it is a 7;30 kick off not 7:45,and all for just £10 for adults, concessions apply. Being spoiled this weekend, don't forget the England game in the bar on Saturday, support club and country at the same time. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / World cup.
« on: June 12, 2018, 03:18:19 PM »
Just a shame that one of the biggest sporting events in the world could not used to draw people to the club, i'm sure that advertised and promoted properly it could be quite a draw. Throw in happy hour prices for the duration of the game, fire up the barbecue, big screen and way you go.

General Discussion / Season tickets.
« on: May 24, 2018, 01:53:59 PM »
So season ticket prices will remain the same for next season as for last season, so last season it worked out at an average of £10.44 per game, next season it works out at an average of £11.42 per game! Does this mean that the normal entry price will go up correspondingly?  :shark:  :dontknow:
