General Discussion / Pitch?
« on: April 12, 2018, 05:36:04 PM »
With the pitch being in the worst condition for many years, will the club or FOTL be upping the fundraising to refurbish the pitch properly before the new season starts? We potentially have 3 home games left after tonight, if we are included in the play off final and it is at the walks I would hope work could start immediately after that?  After all I don't think it has had a major overhaul for 30 years?  :dontknow:

General Discussion / Fan club?
« on: April 07, 2018, 11:35:26 PM »
I see an attempt has been made at the request of some fans for a coach to be laid on for the Slough game, and despite the sterling efforts of volunteers on behalf of the FOTL the coach remains largely unfilled,I understand they need another 18 people by Monday lunchtime to allow the coach to go ahead? The sad thing is that prior to the club going bust there was actually a fan club, that actually catered for the needs of the fans, over the years before going tits up the club had a very healthy away following,I believe busses put on in those days were quickly filled? As it stands at the moment we have the Trust and the FOTL, the Trust it seems exists due to a need a few years back for someone to take control of the club,so the Trust was born, but the Trust for whatever reasons failed in their bid to take over the club, the trust still waits in abeyance should the need arise for them to step in? The FOTL it seems were formed in order to give the impression that the club was fulfilling terms of the lease by having a fan body associated with the running of the club, volunteers from the FOTL perform many tasks at the football club, but their major task seems to be raising funds for the club? Regardless of what involvement the Trust may have in  the future running of the club, I feel it is time that the FOTL moved more towards being a fan club/social club and thinking of the fans first, with fundraising being of secondary importance? Increase the membership cost to the FOTL and make it a proper social club, which would hopefully have the knock on effect of more fans offering help? Much as we all love our club it is about time that our club loves the fans, brilliant season so far on the pitch, but again not such a good season off the pitch? :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / Coach for Slough.
« on: April 04, 2018, 10:01:16 PM »
A coach for the away game at Slough is being organised by Sally  on behalf of the FOTL, they need 35 people to break even at 20,if they get over 35 the price can be reduced to 15. many people have moaned in the past about a coach not being laid on,now is your chance to prove that a need is there, Sally and Mark and all other volunteers work their butts off for the club with no return, would be nice to actually fill the bus, a mark of appreciation for their efforts? :bus: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / Slough Tuesday?
« on: March 11, 2018, 01:00:24 PM »
So after the massive win at Hereford on Saturday will the momentum be carried over to Tuesday nights visit of Slough? Could this see a gate of 1000+? No price rise for this game, Slough within reasonable travelling distance, could bring a few over, would be great to see all behind the team.  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Not often a football fans page can bring a fundraiser to the fore and virtually triple the target, would be nice to see if he could crack the 1000 mark?

General Discussion / Reserves Thursday?
« on: February 13, 2018, 11:31:56 AM »
Just wondering if the reserves game is still on for Thursday night?  Not seen it advertised anywhere, will it be just reserves or few first team players getting warmed up for Saturday? Was the attendance at the last game improved as there was no first team game?  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

General Discussion / Busy Boxing day?
« on: December 25, 2017, 03:20:58 AM »
Could turn out to be a busy day Boxing day, happy hour at the club 12:15, Blue and Gold trust raffle at the Napier at 2o'clock,  kick off at three, club raffle at half time, then hopefully celebratory drinks after.  Phew, best pack the wallet for that day, just got to hope that we get our first 1000+ gate since Holt decided to bolt? Get big behind the team, quality being challenged, let's hope this is the game where they prove their credentials, come down show you're a Linnet shout loud and help them win it. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
