A47 linnet will you be there on the 7th come up and induced yourself  to me

I think he could get arrested for that.   :laughcry:

Malcolm. As far as I am aware, the 7th is just a FOTL's meeting. Its not there to address the whole supporter base, only those who have an interest in the FOTL's. I would also assume that the meeting is for FOTL's business, and not for you to take people to task for their comments.

I also don't think its for discussing the general running of the Club, so maybe you could ask the Chairman to arrange a fans forum instead.   :dontknow:

I'm sure he would get a good response for that.

The 7th is not actually a meeting for FOTL, more an open evening so fans of all demoninations can come and mingle, you never know your luck but SC may have a few minutes free and would like a chinwag and a beer with his loyal customers?

I have in the past asked if the FOTL could advertise how they have helped the Club and what they have purchased. There is plenty of time to do this prior to the 7th Sep and if they did I believe a lot of people would like to become members especially at only £5.

Regards -Badger.  :oldman"

At the present moment Badger records of previous assistance are not to hand,a few of the things off the top of my head include the disabled shelter,a stretcher, illuminated number boards for the dugouts,as more things come to light they will be widely publicised. As to future fundraising and purchases we hope we can keep the fans fully informed each step of the way.

Griss if there is a big project would a joint venture with the Trust be an option ?   I know there are maybe certain people ( person) on The FOTL Committee who doesn’t want to work with the Trust but time to put personnel issues to one side for the greater good.

New Broom and all that.  Time for mending fences.

I personally would like to see more joint ventures between the Trust and the FOTL,the last joint quiz was very successful and swelled the coffers of the ground improvement fund. If all joint ventures would promote harmony and put monies into the ground improvement fund then everyone wins?

Malcolm, thanks for the committee list and roles

When asked who is in charge of fund raising all the fotlsc committee are,and all of the fans

Whilst this may be true in its widest sense, fundraising doesn't happen 'on its own' and generally needs to be co-ordinated and, in my experience, preferably by an individual who co-opts others for specific tasks rather than 'by committee'.

Please could you give a summary of the current fundraising schemes that are up and running?  I know you are a new committee still finding it's feet but you have had two meetings since the AGM and the first home game is tomorrow and whilst transparency as to how the FOTL operates and where fundraising proceeds are directed is a laudable aim it is a bit irrelevant if fans are not aware of the various fundraising schemes - better to inform and publicise, not wait for fans to ask.

At the moment Tony the only fundraisers running are the 12th man scheme and the 100 club,we have nothing in the pipeline yet to speak of. This is one of the reasons for having an open evening, this gives fans an opportunity to make suggestions and put ideas forward, not just for possible ways to raise funds but also to make suggestions as to where those funds could be spent. :dontknow:

The F O T L Supporters Club are having an open evening to members and non members on the 7th of September. The idea of the meeting is to ask the fans what they would like us to do going forward and if we get the fans backing we are planning to hold a social evening once a month. In the very near future fans will be able to join FOTL online
Date - tick
Time - tick
Venue - ??

Apologies for missing that bit out, it will be in the bar at the club.

Good to see the FOTL posting on here and glad there is now an open meeting in the diary.  Griss, whilst I think we all appreciate there is a new committee, hopefully some of you will have been on committees previously so will have some idea of how organisations operate and events are run?

One main question springs to mind when reading the posts - why are you fundraising and where do the committee envisage those funds being directed?

Also in the meantime will there be a FOTL presence in the ground (not being distracted by selling programmes before the game) promoting the fundraising that is ongoing such as the 12th Man and the Hundred club?

Tony it is not so much that people don't know how to do things,it is more to do with doing things within the constraints of the current management set up. I would like to see some funds raised to improve things for the fans as well as continuing to help the club.

This will be an evening mainly flying by the seat of our pants, this is all new to many of us so we don't expect to move mountains, but maybe we can kick over some molehills. An evening when you can come down ,have a beer and mingle, throw in some ideas for fundraising and events you would like to see? Open at 7 o'clock/19:00 hrs.

Be you careful with the very suggestion of seeking sustenance outside of the ground? :laughcry: :laughcry:

I really hope the club, stewards, and police are on top of this.  If we wish to stay at this level, and now we’re here, most would, we MUST get some real sponsorship, or generosity, to build additional terraces and steps to be added to existing terraces, plus cover, or there is a danger that we simply won’t be able to cope.  There is the large flat area at the Old Hospital end of the main stand, that MUST acquire a substantial terrace as soon as possible.  We can’t have large areas like that, that cannot house spectators, because there are bigger crowds waiting to come once Covid subsides, and big clubs arrive.  If we compete on the field, many more local fans are also likely.    Are there grants for such erections, available for H & S purposes ?

Investment in the ground and facilities is long overdue,I think that it is possible to extend the covered terrace opposite the main stand, albeit not massively? :dontknow:

Unless you can contact anyone in the meantime,I believe season tickets can be collected from the box office at home games.

If the FOTL were to hold an open evening in the bar at the club,to discuss possible plans for moving forward, which evening would suit people best? This would be open to both members and non-members, just an informal evening to chat and come up with some things that you the fans would like to see happen.

It is a simple thing to do if the person that should be doing it can be bothered.5 weeks now since it it was first raised. That's not getting it sorted its waiting for it to happen. That's unless the Club has a reason for the fotl not to succeed as they think they have got a better alternative in the pipeline.I don't think they will attract many new members as people will just think its the same as it was when the previous committee members were involved and we all know what happened there.Next to nothing.

One meeting in Nikki,new season yet to start,give people a chance to talk to the people concerned! :banghead;
