The referee makes the decision whether or not the game is on, not Lucy Verasamy.

Quote from: Mallard on November 02, 2025, 02:27:13 PMRowe had a team on a high while Culverhouse has inherited a team on the floor.

We all know why that is.

The last league game win for Rowe was August 30th against a team that spent 7 hours on the bus and arrived late. Did he really leave a team 'on a high'?

Quote from: Tennylad on October 25, 2025, 08:40:27 PMI've just watched Joe's post match interview. Basically he's said without realizing, that himself the coaching staff and the players got outwitted by far more experienced managers and opponents on the pitch. We need experience and leadership both on and off the pitch. No win since August. Not good enough.

Have you watched the Radcliffe manager's interview where he, realising it, says that he was out-witted by Joe's set-up from the off?

Yes.   Good to see the considered view of someone very much 'in the game'.

Quote from: Windy Linnet on October 25, 2025, 09:53:49 AMI remember the COVID season well.
The right manager.
Great football.
Local based part time squad.
Passionate Chairman
Fan engagement.
What went wrong?

The Passionate Chairman furloughed key players and took out a substantial loan that may well be continuing to influence current operations.

Quote from: A Well Wisher on October 22, 2025, 11:18:15 AMLast night was a must win game and should've been an easy 3 points.

I really hope we get a result on Saturday   :scarf:

There are rarely an 'easy 3 points' to be had in any game of football. (Particularly, in the National League North). I expect Chorley supporters are sharing similar sentiments this morning.

Or, maybe, the new owner has taken on what he sees as a longer term project and that a sustainable business base is not built by just throwing money about.

Quote from: Blue_and_Gold on September 27, 2025, 04:43:33 PMJoe Simpson?

Would he want it, and if so, should he be given a chance?

If the new regime wants to go forward within the community, why not give Simpson a go. He started the Academy without any experience and produced players who went on to higher levels and did the same at Boston. He has won promotions in the women's and men's leagues, so no stranger to some success. Or go with the same old same olds with a long throw and passing backwards ideas.

General Discussion / Re: Club charged by FA.
August 28, 2025, 03:35:14 PM
I am seeing alleged/claims/charges, have any of these been 'found'?    The FA usually operates a kangaroo court with decisions months after the alleged event, with little chance of any contrary evidence being considered.  Also, the 'alleged' incident at the recent Telford game all came about due the assistant referee thinking he has Special Constable powers whilst carrying a flag. The spectator stood his ground and was not pleased with the assistant refs action (who was challenged as mishearing or imagining what was supposedly said).  The game was needlessly stopped in a theatrical way in first half added time. All this could go down in the Special Constable's (referee) report that the FA will believe.  After the game, stewards were talking to the spectator who had been involved, saying it all appeared to be a misunderstanding and the actual police indicated that there was not enough evidence to act upon.    Let's see what the FA come up with in 6 or 9 months time.

Probably worth the 'Lakeland has left' article having it's pin removed that is keeping it top of the news on the club website. It's now old news.

Possibly, some of the 'up and coming', hungry players help balance the budget books.

Jimmy Dean will deceive to impress anywhere that has the biggest budget in the league.
