General Discussion / Hayes away - 15th October
« on: September 20, 2016, 10:27:47 AM »
According to Hayes & Yeading's website, if our match with them goes ahead on 15th October (cup commitments permitting); it will be played at Beaconsfield's ground as their own ground is still not ready.

We played Slough at Beaconsfield last season prior to their new ground being ready.

General Discussion / Quigley's ban
« on: September 03, 2016, 10:19:29 AM »
So after his sending off at Frome last Saturday, Quigs has been given a three game ban. Another joke of a decision which the referee felt the need to try to have to justify afterwards.

On the FA website it says the following on their "suspensions" page:
Clubs at Step 2 and below: Red cards in first team competitive matches result in suspensions commencing on the 14th day following the match in which the player was sent off. Red cards in non-first team matches will be processed by the County Association to which the Club is affiliated.

However the suspensions page also has both Quigley's (and the Frome player who was sent off with him) serving 3 game bans effective from today (so only 7 days after the offence as opposed to 14).

So have the rules changed or have the FA got it wrong?

General Discussion / Welcome Declan McAvoy
« on: June 07, 2016, 09:56:43 AM »
From KLtown site:

King’s Lynn Town are pleased to announce the signing of talented young winger Declan Mcavoy.

The 24 year old lists Scottish side Hamilton Academicals, Alloa, Livingston and Farnborough Town on his footballing CV and actually turned down the chance of a professional contract in Malta but choose to link up with Great Yarmouth last season following his move down to Norfolk from Scotland.

King’s Lynn Manager Gary Setchell says Declan is another good addition to the squad, he has a terrific left foot and is a dead ball specialist, he scored a number of free- kicks for Yarmouth last season and helped them gain promotion back to the premier league.

Declan is the son of Frank Mcavoy who is the assistant manager at local championship team side Norwich City.

Welcome to the club Declan.
