General Discussion / Re: Top SIX Are All Playing Each Other

Only one striker again…regrettably disappointing. You look at the bench and wonder why?

Difficult game for us today but we almost don’t have anything to lose. If we could sneak a win and Brackley get at least a point at Fylde then Easter could be interesting…I’ve got everything crossed!!

Great result but, sadly, it’s come too late unless Fylde genuinely implode. Can’t see it happening.

There may be reasons for omissions we’re not party to, but the line-up today appears to be disappointingly defensive. If three attackers can make the bench then why not play one of them with Cosgrave?  Surely we need a win not a potential draw?

Agreed…but where’s Blair?

I agree John. Don’t think TW will start with two strikers…but just the one as usual. That said, while I would disagree, I think he’s done a remarkable job overall this season and whatever happens I hope he stays. We need consistency after recent times. Like you, I know we have players more than capable of taking three points. Let’s hope we’re pleasantly surprised.

General Discussion / Tonight’s Game

I fear that we’ll be down to third tonight. It would be nice to think that we might grab a good win but my head is suggesting otherwise!  As ever, how we are set up is key. In my opinion we should go positive and take the game to them. A point, to be honest, would have been good earlier in the season but at this stage we need three. No pressure…

I agree with being more positive for the rest of the season. We gain nothing from going for one point away from home we must try for three each time. What’s to lose?  With some teams dropping points we could, just maybe, do ourselves a big favour. Fortune favours the brave!

Well…we’ve been basically playing catch-up but we then keep falling back. There’s only so many times you can do that and I think we’ve had our chance and it’s now gone after last night. If Fylde win their game in hand we’re five points behind with not so many games left. Even if we were to beat them at home the situation is still out of our hands. I, too, now worry more about our home games. We have some tough away fixtures but seem to make something happen these days whereas at home we’re not putting goals in. Other teams around us keep dropping points which has helped…all except Fylde!  I think it’s the play-offs for sure now and we may well struggle there unless the injury situation improves. Blair did OK which is good but we miss Hargreaves and Scott. Saturday isn’t going to be easy and nor even Farsley Celtic. They lost last night but otherwise have been doing much better of late. It’s a tough League. Ironically, had we started poorly and now be where we are I’m sure everyone would be pleased. It was the good start which raised everyone’s hopes…perhaps unfairly after last season?

Well…we now need two wins and for Blyth to do us a favour on Saturday (they are the form team) and Buxton to keep their own form going againt Fylde next Tuesday. Possible?

Interesting line-up. See we’ve got Blair in goal so anyone know anything more about Jones?  And who is Dixon-Hodge?

Well…I did predict a 4-0 win for us but I’ll take the 1-0. Why, though, did Barrett take the penalty?  Anyway, with others losing it’s a good night for us.

Call me crazy but I have this feeling we’re going to get a surprise result at Banbury…something like a 4-0 win.
